FIVE RANDOM THOUGHTS ABOUT VIDEO GAMES.

Posts

Seriously - I can only think of maybe 2-3 SNES games that might pose a current-gen level challange, and they're now worth roughly teh same price of a brand new 360 game, or more.

7th Saga
Battletoads
All of the NES Megaman games
Megaman 1
Final Fantasy 1
Early Castlevania games
Super Mario Brothers
Streets of Rage 1
Sonic 1
The Adventures Of Lolo
Ghost & Goblins
Mike Tyson's Punch Out
Motherfucking son of a bitch Contra
Bionic Commando
Metroid
Ninja Gaiden
Half of the TMNT games

While not all of these games are ball bustingly hard, find me five, no, even three next gen games that are as hard or harder than any of these.

can't make a bad game if you don't finish any games

Persona 3 is one.
(but that's all I can think of right now...)
I can name one ...
Gears of War 2 HORDE mode ... Wave 50 (Nuff said)
The Pokemon D/P Battle Tower is the most rediculous difficult pile of shit that's come out for a current system. It might as well be the Computer Happy RNG Hack Time for all the time QuickClaw+InstantKO's open up and when your moves miss.

Other hard games for current systems (of varying difficulties)
Final Fantasy 3 DS
Super Mario Sunshine (that volcano boat part can die in a fucking fire)
Odin Sphere
Valkyrie Profile 2
God Hand, Hard mode, KMS run
Bionic Commando Rearmed, Super Hard
Contra Shattered Soldier
Metal Gear Solid 2+3, European Extreme
Metroid Prime 2 (or just the Boost Guardian, that fucker is a punch in the face)

I agree there's a lot more difficult NES games (Adventures of Bayou Billy, Deadly Towers
, Zelda 2, ect.), and except for RNG hax none of the above come close to Space Ace in absolute bullshit hard.
-Devil May Cry 4 Hell Mode or Bloody Palace
-God of War GOD Mode
The first TMNT game was fucking insanely difficult.

Are you talking about the one for SNES with the "ShellShock!" and "Big Apple ... 3 a.m."

Boost Guardian? You think THAT'S hard? Really?
Say hello to the Spider Guardian, bitch.
Also, Left 4 Dead is insanely awesome with 3-4 people.

I... actually never got to the Spider Guardian. I got stuck in some huge backtrack part of the game and quit. The Boost Guardian is the only part of the game I remember clearly because he fills me with nerd rage.

I also forgot to mention the other SMT games like Nocturne and Digital Devil Saga. More of the SMT hard fanfare but DDS1 has a tremendous fuck you optional boss. All the best abilities of the game make him use his GameOver attack and if you don't kill him right he gets revived with full HP and theres other fuck yous in there to.

"Nerd Rage" is a perk/special ability you can actually get in Fallout 3.

Nothing has made my inner meme geek as happy since X-Men 3, where Vinnie Jones looked knowingly at the camera and said, "I'm the juggernaut, bitch, your bullets cannot harm me.".

"Nerd Rage" kinda sucks though (Atleast by the description)
Never once thought about getting it as it is pretty useless (Adding strength when your about to die, so your trying to get away from the enemies)

buuuut the huge 50% DR boost when you hit 20% health can save your life i guess ...
Mysterious Stranger is the best one.

Mysterious Stranger is the best one.

I haven't got that one ...
I don't have enough luck i think ... how good is it? What does it actually do XD
Every so often when you go into V.A.T.S. mode, a guy in a fedora hat, trench coat, and a Colt Magnum will finish off the enemies for you (while still in V.A.T.S. mode no less, so the screen pans over to him with the crazy camera effects and such) and vanish when everything is dead.

Oh that sounds pretty hawt, but do you get the exp when he kills them?

I have a question about Fallout 3's ending:
Do you die or what?
I just played Little Big Planet and it's the worst thing ever. I payed $100 to play a game that completely sucks.

LittleBigPlanet is the only game to restore my faith in videogames of late. Fallout 3 is a slightly worse, slightly better Oblivion. The rest of games right now bore me in no time, or at very least moderately amuse me.
LBP however casts a spell on the players, drawing them into this addictive world of imagination and creativity with Mario-esque gameplay. I love it.
Simply hopping online I hook up with three others and start romping around the player created levels and the hours fly by. Or, I alternatively open up the overly intuitive level editor and create something for other dudes to romp through.
LBP is by far the best game in my library, which is (to counter jive talk) expansive.
Little Big Planet actually looks fun to me. Then again, I like overly cute things.
