FINAL FANTASY ALL THE BRAVEST 2!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't quite know why but that made me laugh really, really hard

Oh wait, nevermind
Kawazu is the main reason why this series is still breathing. SE has a lot of higher ups that keep games on life support (like drakengard) which is probably a good thing. It probably transpired due to not getting the money to make a full console release so they settled for handheld.
Nah, it's handheld because that's the way the market has shifted in Japan. A lot more people play on handhelds than on consoles nowadays there and it has the added bonus that assets for a handheld are cheaper than a HD console which SE has repeatedly shown they are terrible at handling.

They should just hand all of their games to Yoshi-P and let him rock star his way through game dev.

I really hope that's not the end game for Japanese gaming from now until forever. I didn't put all this time being a dumb kid and a dumb teenager, to be a grown ass man in my grown ass apartment with my big ass flat screen TV for video games to go right back to squinting at a screen.
I dunno man. Now that I'm older and infinitely busier, I don't know how I would've found the time to plonk 80 hours into Shin Megami Tensei IV if I was unable to play it on the bus to/from work.
I can vibe with this!

Don't get me wrong, I'm much busier too as an adult, but I don't want the absolute shift from my fun to be from my home entirely. I'm busy, but not that busy; my house isn't just where I sleep, I want to be able to enjoy my gaming there as well.
Well there's the PS Vita TV assuming they make Imperial Saga compatible with it. They've made other Vita games work on it including PSP games so that's probably the best way to play it on a big screen.
so it's grab a bunch of saga dudes and fight a bunch of saga bosses
can't exactly say my heart is racing here

At least we can all try it, since it's using a web browser as its platform.
The 2D animation reminds me of what Kadokawa did for the recent 2D Metal Max games, on the DS.
Their "SaGa 2015" Vita project is coming too... who knows what that will be like.
Come to think of it, a lot of people on the first page of this discussion mistook Imperial SaGa for the Vita game, when Imperial SaGa is a web browser game... Is it getting a Vita edition? Are they the same game at all?

idk record keeper was a pretty engaging interpretation of FF's gameplay mechanics. I hope this game brings the complexity of the SaGa games and blends with the FFRK mechanics to make something nice. This has the potential to be a *great* game, albeit not story-wise? Idk maybe so? so far so good, it looks real good to me.
Way better than what I expected anyway. Still, I expect good things from the Vita title.

Bastion of translators google gave me this from their video description:
google's fantastic japanese translation engine
Saga first series of PC browser game "Imperial Saga" 2015 early summer delivery schedule http://www.imperialsaga.jp/
I'm amazed they'd release it on PC and not mobile/handheld because there's a lot more money there in Japan than PC
Isn't there another SaGa game coming out besides this though?
I dunno I'm not really excited about this but to be fair we knew that it was a browser-lite game when it was first announced.

Quoting from another forum a dude who knows his shit:
My mistake was I thought Imperial SaGa was the Vita game and figured the Vita part got chopped. Here's hoping the Vita game isn't a record keeper on the excite-o-meter like Imperial is for me

This is the PC Browser game. It's not to be confused with the SaGa game that was announced for Vita. Or Emperor's SaGa which is a F2P mobile game based around collecting cards. Convoluted, I know.

People still make games for the Vita?
My thoughts exactly. I would have thought they'd do 3DS or NEW 3DS (Because it's fun to get excited people confused. Thanks, Xenoblade!), considering Square Enix has a huge fanbase on 3DS thanks to Bravely Default, and the loss in potential processing and computing power is made up for in the number of sales it would make.
