Thx Joseph :)
Skeleshark, that is adorbs. I really love it, though that bridge makes no sense.
Really? Drat...Should it look more like this?

@JosephSeraph @octopaca Thank you very much for the complement! It means a lot.
A lot better :) One other thing that bothers is me that the house's door is at the side. I think it should change places with the window. Oh and some more pretty decorations like tall grass and flowers would be good~
@skeleshark - your trees and bushes are kinda hanging out randomly. Try clumping them together into a few bigger groups. The scene will look less chaotic and more natural.

So like this, then? :0

My only problem with this map is that I can't figure out how to get the bridge to be walked on, though I'll ask for help on that in the proper thread.
Man, it's been ages since I last posted here.
Just got the Time Fantasy pack and decided to make a little test map!
(Characters from Master of the Wind hanging out retro style!)
I know there are some small errors here and there, which I'll fix a bit later. Overall, I kind
of enjoy these graphics a bit. Especially since I have used the RTP for about 4+ years
now. This was indeed a fresh experience.
Also, I'll probably upload a video later to see the place in action with custom music! ^^

@Frogge: We should make an adventure/horror game together dude!
@Sated: I really like them because of the colors. The characters aren't chi-bi too, which I suppose is a good thing.
@skeleshark: It's getting better and better. Keep it up!

Welp I decided that I'm gonna finish all the maps before starting the eventing for this game so I don't run out of ideas halfway through. Here's a pic of the third lever(yup the game is divided to levels):

And just because it has blood it isn't a horror game ok?!

That's a nice lever. A door to the upper bedroom would be nice though. Does the game contain jump scares?

There aren't any levers in there, maybe you mixed something with one?
Anyway, yeah I'll add a door later when I get started with eventing, and it kinda depends. It's a game where you have to find ways to escape houses filled with zombies(in the beginning there will be 1-2 in each level but the number will grow)and zombies may be inside rooms so there is a chance that you might open the door and run straight into a zombie.
Darn. I swear this map looks good when zoomed out, so why does it look so weird when I zoom in? Can anyone give me some advice? I know about the three tile rule and all that, but for some reason, whenever I try to apply what I observe from maps in other games, things end up looking random rather than natural.
Too much empty space, maybe? Heck.
Definitely loving the psychedelic style :D

author=Satedauthor=FroggeI would add a more blatant indication of where the side-to-side doors are.

Definitely agreed on this one.
A not-so-tricky trick we use at Twelve Tiles and Freebird Games is the rug/carpet. It actually doesn't make a whole lot of sense to have a rug at every side door but you can see how much more clearly it defines entryways. :)
Sideways Entry Trick in ABS, FP, and LW
EDIT: Probably should have screen-capped the examples with the event boxes all over but it's most clear in the last one anyhow. :P
@skeleshark> The river/bridge area looks flat. It'd look better if it 'flowed', imo.
@luiishu> Just wondering, why does it seem faded out?
@frogge> I'll ditto sated and merlandese. Alternate to merlandese's suggestion, you can also make the ceiling above the doorway slightly transparent.
@KabochaGretgor> The trees pop out a bit too much. Maybe desaturate them a little? Otherwise, yeah it looks fine.

I'm not sure I'm doing the whole "get rid of empty, useless space" thing right. I hope this looks better..

Personally I'd shrink the whole middle isle leading up to the salesperson. Don't be afraid to be asymmetrical, too. You could make the shelves on our right three spaces wide and shrink the counter by one on the right side, or close it in on both sides with the shelves. You could even just move everything on the outside inward by one tile. Right now the biggest misuse of space is that center isle, though. It looks like someone bought a place to sell items but didn't have enough items to fill the space! XD
Keep it up!

@Gretgor - that map looks fine
Thanks :3
Sated-Yeah I'm gonna add arrows when I'm done with the maps :3
Saffie-I like that map, but what I meant is that you DON'T have to fill it all in. You can just do something like:
