LOOKING FOR A GAME MAKING GROUP/PARTNER

Nah flap he was perfectly in line. You're the one making an argument bigger than it should be. Cheers.
Welp, can't argue with the majority vote. My bad, Link_2112!
And welcome, Daku!
I was talking to DakuRaita, not you, flapbat (because obviously you already know the edit thing, why would I be saying that to you?). Should have said @Daku, given my post. Haha, that's ironic!
Speaking of annoying things, I think it's annoying with people that post their names at the end of stuff they write when you can clearly move your eyes slightly to the left to see their names. Like people that end cellphone messages to their friends with their name when they already know who you are. For example.
Lol I'm pretty sure you brought that up a little while ago snow haha. People can sign with their name if they wanna. It's not a sin

@suzy: haha, got it. Speaking of foibles, I guess I unintentionally derailed this thread.
@SnowOwl: I had a snide comment in return, but I took it down because dissing each other will get us nowhere.

Haha, it's fine for derailing the thread, it happens whenever I have a conversation, so I'm good. Plus, it's nice to see people talk and resolve conflicts. :3
We have rules for reasons, and it's not to demoralise newbies to the site. That is never our intention, but we do expect people to abide by the rules.
That said, do you have any experience with the engine you're using, Daku? I may have read it wrong but it sounds a little like you might be looking for someone to event as well as program.
A lot of people don't respond well to such things because eventing in RM is very easy to do once you play around with the engine a bit. It does take time to learn, yes, but the engine is a lot more simpler to use than many other ones out there.
That said, Ruby can trip people up who have no idea about how to program, so no worries on that score. I'm still only a dabbler myself, so I check out a lot of the scripts that already exist and try to mess with them bit by bit to get them to do what I want them to. It takes time and can be very frustrating, but... well, it's worth it to get the feeling of accomplishment at the end (and learning new things.)
A lot of people who ask for team-ups don't take in to account what happens if the team dissolves for whatever reason. This is why we generally tell people that they should have experience in all parts of RMing just in case - so they can take over that position in the team.
Anyway, it's good to see people who are excited to create. I would recommend making contacts in the community - talking to people on the forums, getting involved in other people's projects (talking on their game pages and offering to help out in the Help Me section if possible) and just having fun and contributing to the community in small ways - if you can write well, there's the Description topic where people who can't ask for help with getting the descriptions of their games fixed and the Screenshot topic where people give feedback to screenshots shown there. There's also the feedback area under the Development heading.
Or you could take part in the contests/events we hold from time to time. They'd be the best places to ask for team-ups - it's a set time to work and since the games are often short they give a good, concise experience boost in team work.
I look forward to seeing what you do in the future! Good luck~

To be honest, I didn't really see the previous posts as demoralizing, seemed more like constructive criticism to me. At any rate, thanks for the advice and I understand what you mean, Liberty, but I've tried rpg maker itself, including unity and gamemaker studios. I've read all of the tutorials and instructions but somehow I can't comprehend what they've been saying even though I've tried for a few months. If I did understand I'd be able to make games just fine, but somehow I can't understand. It's like some sort of learning issue I have, which is very frustrating. I'll try asking around on the forums and find some tips to hopefully understand it better. Thanks for the advice. :3
Sometimes it's best just to leap in and try stuff out. Make a new project and just mess around in it - see what everything does by using it. A lot can be done with eventing - more than enough to create a game with, without the use of scripts. ^.^

Yeah, I've tried exactly that, but I just can't seem to get it right. I've made several attempts, and I can't even get the character to move or even the stage right ^^'. It probably seems like I'm making excuses, but I know my limits and I know when I need to ask for help. I've never done anything tech-related other than talk to people, game, type up stories, and post drawings from paper online. I've done many attempts and experiments and asked my friends for advice, but it never works out, which is why I'm asking for help since I know after countless frustrating attempts and headaches and dizziness from trying to comprehend that I can't do it.
I actually had a partner before, but he went rogue and did ridiculous and immature things, so that's why I've been searching ever since summer break while still trying to get the hang of making games, I ended up here. I'm awkward and brief as a person with a very naive mindset which is equal to that of a child's and oversimplify things and can pretty much mainly understand very simple and straightforward instructions, which may also explain why I can't understand the many functions there are to making games despite trying for about two years.
There are some decent tutorial videos on youtube that cover the very basics of using Ace, if you've a mind to find them. Not sure who made them but "VX Ace basic tutorial" might find them for you.

This one seems to be pretty decent. He's easy enough to understand and shows you what he does, explaining everything as he goes.
Most of the people who use Ace are self-taught and once you do get the basics down, it is a lot of fun to just mess around in the program making and creating stuff. It is, in itself, something of a game (where you win if you complete a game~ )

author=LibertyI see, thanks for the help. I'm probably just blind or unlucky to not see that ^^'
