ENTRY 28 : I HATE THE WALL

Why don't you draw some from Front missions? :) Love that series so much.

Yo, I am a fan of Front Mission myself (though the mech arts are very rare to find), so thanks for reminding me about 'em. Going to try the 5th title one of these days.

Also, I did doodle some wanzer (Blizzaia, if you are wondering), but I didn't have time to actually fix it in photoshop so uhh, yeah, maybe tomorrow or some other time I'll get on it.

ENTRY 29 : VAPORWARE RISING


One of the many Character in my old project. Not sure if any of you actually know/remember them, but they were in one of my old ancient screenshot (as RM2k3 Faceset).

I hate cleaning my lineart, and colouring them is...ugh.

EDIT: Ahaha, I messed up at the right guy's neck. That's a log. NVM, it's my lack of sleep acting up again.

If you drew your humans, at least sketch phase, the same as you draw robots and monsters, they'd stand out more. I don't want to squash anyone's love of anime characters, but if you stepped away from anime eyes and stuff for a while, I think you'll evolve your style quickly.

Also, are you talking about the face drawing in general or the anatomy (or even both)?

Common issue:
-Recently my work time is a bit more messed up that usual. Commonly, I'd get like 3-4 hours per day for drawing/gaming whatever, but recently it's down to half. Not to mention getting back home late = terrible mood for drawing. I can have more if I sleep late, but I have a massive sleep debt so...

-It's a bit unfortunate, but I don't have a scanner (I also wonder why). Generally I feel my sketches on paper do better, the ones here are usually "converted" version using tablet at the end of the day. The ones without a proper reference drawn on paper... those are... a lot wonkier, cause I am not good enough to make a fully digital lineart for hueg stuff. EVEN the ones with reference is still WONKY. Maybe if I spend more time on it. *shrug*

-Friggin artist block, I felt like I am running out of... not ideas but rather things I am interested to.. draw (?) after the game jam ended. So recently I am just drawing whatever comes to mind. Not really in INSPIRED mood here.

For face:
I compromised halfway, because while I train myself to draw face realistically, I feel cartoony (I tried to stay away from full anime though, the ones with HUEG eyes) look is good on its own. Also, everyone turned into old face if I do it realistically and that's quite depressing. Semi realistic I guess. But yeah, it can be improved. *Don't quote me though, I am pretty much a hypocrite on style.

For Body:
Guilty as charged, while I can draw robots fairly well (it's what I had been learning to do during the last few years (on/off though)) anatomy still baffles me. I used to make em anime-like, but I prefer realistic proportion myself (well... semi realistic I guess). to this day, I still have problem with drawing shoulders. Seriously. It's my weakest point.

The one up there is drawn supposed to be like that though (some kind of small character proportion), also fully done by tablet and is a quick sketch.
I guess that's like a trifecta of error right there.

In the end, I think it depends on how long I spend time on em, which is... miniscule these days.

*ALSO! Wow, that's a friggin wall of text. Sorry if I came off defensive and rant-y; it's really not my intention.

So uh, Yo, how's everyone doin'?
I won't bore you with more details (pretty much said it last week on previous post) so yeah, summary:
1. Had a pretty nerve wrecking week,
2. After Sunday it was pretty awright, but I have some stuff to catch up first/take some break
3. Look, I know I said "daily" art, but it's starting to become a punchline about a terrible joke on daily art topic. So yeah, it's going to be sporadic update instead. Just...not too sporadic, that's one way to (deliberately) forget about the thread's existence.

ENTRY 30 : METAL MAN


These days I am leaning more towards doodling concepts arts. Particularly because recently my ideas have been terribly disjointed and messy - so I might need to tie 'em up together and get something remotely presentable as a theme.
(Hint: Cyborg/power-armor)

Hopefully they are cool enough to show off.
Isn't that a good excuse to not do a full drawing? I think so.

So, uh, how's everyone doing? I am still around, just being... unproductive these days. So much things going on these days I just got overwhelmed.

ENTRY 32ND : HOW DO YOU LEVEL SKETCHES?

That scar looks kinda wacky here, but yes, that is a scar. I made a mistake and darken it.

Phone-cam quality because I don- can't make time to digitally redraw this.
Face practice for a project yadda yadda, hopefully I can do a full body shot next time.

Somehow I feel the eyes I draw looks similar with one another - which kinda vexes me since I used to practice to draw different types of eyes daily in the past (it was during school/class, but that counts right?).

Maybe the eyebrows are the ones to blame.

EDIT
I just realised them faces reminded me of the guys from the other project. But they aren't.
I blame lack of practice/art sense.
