So, I'm using RPG maker 2003, for those of you who have played Yume Nikki, your character can walk behind elevated surfaces and disappear from view as if rpg maker worked in a perspective view, (I'm sorry I can't explain this better btw.) However, if you know what I'm talking about, could someone explain to me, or link me to somewhere where this feat is explained?
See what i mean?

The black area was designated a roof tile, from the looks of it. Go into the database to the Chipset tab. Click on the tile you want to overlap until it becomes a Square. (this is the ones under the water tiles). This makes a roof tile. You can also choose the Star which is similar but allows you to walk all the way under that tile, where-as the square has a cut-off point.
Thank you so much for your help, one more thing, can you link me somewhere that explains how chipsets are arranged?
Do a google search for (engine name) chipset template. Maybe click on the images tab. Should find a good image.
Liberty explained that. The best way to think about tiles is that there is 3 layers.
Below the hero
Same layer as hero
Above the hero
Set a tile to O, and you can walk on it, it's below you.
Set a tile to X, and you can't walk on it, it's same level as you.
Set a tile to Star, and you can walk under it, it's above you.
When you make a house, usually it's mostly X tiles, and the ones at the top are Star tiles. So you can walk behind the house a little bit, but it's mostly made of tiles you can't walk on. The doorway is an O tile.
