YEAR END RETROSPECTIVE: OVERALL BESTEST GAME EDITION
Posts
Yeesh, that is pathetic. You'd think the prize money would have been more than enough incentive to make something impressive, or at least to make an effort :/
I can't believe Remnants of Isolation isn't nominated for anything and Lost Story is in EVERY CATEGORY (save for best non-rpg & most promising demo) despite using almost straight environment rips from Ni No Kuni (not that I care if someone uses rips in their game, but at least say what game you took them from/acknowledge they're rips!). I'm guessing Ravensoft and their two dozen minions/personas cast all those nomination votes...?
Anyway I didn't play enough games of the year to have a fair judgement (and so I won't be voting) but I have enjoyed Luxaren Allure & Remnants a lot.

This somehow reminds me that I still have to finish that play of Soul Sunder, and pick up Pizza Carpan.

So unity lost her top spot? But well, Soul Sunder is really good, right?
Soul Sunder is my #1 of the year, so I have no qualms with his choice! :D
I wouldn't call the Misaos corrupt. 'Inept', 'Exploitable' perhaps, but not corrupt. Intent is important!

Sunken Spireby Indra and Fomar0153.
Wait what?
*checks it*
WAIT WHAT ANOTHER ARUM GAME BY THOSE TWO AND I DIDN'T PLAY IT YET?! :o
I'm going to go download this right the hell now. I love their games and I love the Arum verse! How did I miss this?!
I think the game that most made me want to play it and actually finish without taking loads of weeks was Oneshot, it's a really amazing game and has some very creative coding. It actually interact with us in more ways than one, and that fact made me love the game even more. (The graphics are astonishing and the story is deliciously mysterious)
Well, I don't play DEMOs :( If I did and it was not completed for 6mos or more as happens to so many Demos, I would not be able to remember what happened in the Demo, so I'd lose interest.
I found "Hey Dude, Where's My Speeder" on another site and suggested he drag it on over here, so I'm glad it got noticed and played. It was an enjoyable game for anyone who likes Star Wars.
I play tested "Alone At Last" so again, glad I had a hand in a game that others enjoyed.
Now for my BESTEST game I will name "Pastlife: Legend of Eloria".
I know some may not agree, but then if you know me, you know I got hooked on this kind of game and have no interest in Internet 3D games cause I got hooked on Legend of Zelda.
I got giddy and could not stop playing Pastlife, then was sad when it ended :(
Per the developer, it is his first game. The only real problem I saw was a little mapping problem in the "forest". Not much of an ongoing story as the game progressed, killing monsters with a swinging sword and magic balls of fire flying at the enemy is my favorite pastime :)
Sure hope I don't get in trouble for triple posting as I was not sure how to bump it back up for others to see :)
There were a few others I played or am playing, but I don't how you folks remember them so well that you're able to describe them for others on this post :)
