WHAT'S THE STORY WITH IG MAKER?

I've been curious about IG Maker for awhile. It used to be featured prominently next to the RPG Makers in the Rpgmakerweb store, but we only seem to have one game made with it on the entire site, and I couldn't even get that game to run.
Is this just not a good game maker, and thus it doesn't get used? I'm curious about what's the deal with it.

I haven't done much research into it myself, but I remember it being incredibly over hyped. It came out and was way less capable than expected so it immediately fell off the grid.
I actualy forgot it even existed at all until you brought it up.

I think I saw at least 5 IGM games here on the site. But yeah, same thing applies to that... Stencyl thing? Never heard of it anymore.
I could google it up but my internet took like 5 minutes to load this page. yeah.

Well... it's a thing. That's about all I got.
I tried it out years ago, and was just so unimpressed with it that I actually wanted to use ADOBE FLASH INSTEAD! That's a bad sign.
If you're going to use a non RPG game maker, go with Stencyl. Infinitely better, easier to learn, an interesting scripting system, and it's free. You can't go wrong.
EDIT: JS, it takes a certain black magic to double post twenty minutes later.

Looks like it's a good thing I ignored IG Maker, then. I'm like mostly an RPG kind of person, but making a platformer with story elements has always been somewhat alluring. But I'd want something that's as easy and smooth as VX Ace, and IG Maker seems to be not that at all.
The problem with IG Maker is that it was quite... poorly executed crap, to put it nicely. Stencyl looks to be evolving into something decent at least, though its license for distribution is... not the greatest in the world.
For what it's worth, Skyrim's Creation Kit is basically a AAA-level RPG maker. Not so easy to use, though.
Based on my experience with the trial, IG maker used a shit-ton of space on my CPU, all for something that's barely better than other free game-makers at the time of its release. It was also initially priced for $99 USD, which gave me even less incentive to keep it around.
It was a failed attempt in just about every way.
