[SFX] HOW TO FIND NES/SNES SOUND EFFECTS?

CloseI've torn the web apart looking and tried every resource in Zophar's Domain, and I just cannot find SFX of classic NES and SNES titles. Specifically Final Fantasy 1 and Final Fantasy 4. Any suggestions?

well there are some scattered across some rmn final fantasy fangames, since it's copyright material I guess it's not wrong to take from them ^^'

It's easy to rip them yourself. Just set your recording to stereo mix and use a program like audacity, open a rom in zsnes, turn off all channels (F5 F6 F7 etc... except for F11 F12. Though sometimes you have to turn one or the other off.) then record. And you can cut the blank spaces in the recording.

The Spriter's Resource has a companion site called the Sounds Resource. They don't have anything from Final Fantasy I, or IV, but there's still a lot of SNES and NES sound effects there and you might find something useful.

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

With my lack of skill in the graphics or musical department, I'm considering a prequel or sequel to the original FF1 or FF4, which is why I am looking for the canon sound effects. The rest (graphics, music, etc) shouldn't be a prob, but those SFX are always hard to find.
I'd tell you to consider making a gaiden game, much shorter in scope, than an actual equel to the games... I mean do you really want to make Final Fantasy 4 3?

It actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Turns out there's not that many sounds in the game. (Although I don't have ALL of them, I'm missing the Orb Reviving sound.)
Edit: It would appear I am also lacking the sound of walking through lava and the sound of walking with someone poisoned. - I'll have to get those!
