I don't want them to adapt a particular game in the series. I hope they just create a new story.

Unless they adapt the very first game because that one has so little story that it could use some expansion.

They couldn't really adapt the the stories of any of the existing games if they wanted to, because none of them have enough character interaction. Link spends all his time in the wilderness with Navi or Midna (or alone). Exploration into an unknown wilderness is a fine theme for a movie, but TV is a different format. To actually make a TV show out of it, they're going to have a larger cast. They're also going to have to have a much more human cast, since it's live-action. I don't expect any gorons, and I suspect Ganon's army will consist almost entirely of the Gerudo. And I think a lot more of the time will need to be in spent the city than you'd expect from the name Zelda.

After thinking, I'm imagining the show turning out something like Xena: Warrior Princess. Having some supernatural occurence or evil plot each episode that Link and his group of companions have to fight their way through.
