SUPERHERO RPG: IS IT POSSIBLE WITH RPG MAKER

Hello. I want to get into so many things, but two of my interests are comics, and RPG's. So, I'd like to see if you guys think it's possible to make one with RPG Maker VX Ace, or a similar RPG Maker? Also, I've never really made a game with RPG Maker, just fooled around with one on the PS2.
So...can it be done?

True, but I guess I need to be more specific. For a Superhero RPG, you'd need tile sets set in modern times (barring time travel), and so by that I mean do these tiles come in the basic game, or are they available? Would I have to make them?
Modern Cities, Items, etc., all of these pixels would need to be created by me, or are they available? I'm pretty sure characters would need to be made by me, but I don't know if I could do it having to create everything, whereas if I made a Fantasy RPG, I'd be set with a lot of things.
Monsters, and encounters are another thing that I'm ok with having to do on my own. It comes with the territory, being a different genre, as you'd create villains, and enemies within the Superhero story you are telling (you can't use oozes, dragons, and undead).

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

There are somewhere close to a billion tilesets out there. Even more if you use RPG Maker XP instead of Ace, since its tileset format is much simpler to use. Lots of people make custom tilesets, or portions of custom tilesets, and them release them for anyone to use. They're all over the internet.
If you're not planning to do anything with your game except post it for free, it's also not very hard to use graphics from Super Nintendo and Playstation games.

Sooz
They told me I was mad when I said I was going to create a spidertable. Who’s laughing now!!!

The only limit is the amount of time you're willing to spend searching for resources!
Check out Master of the Wind.
I hacked together a magical girl game using RTP graphics? It might not be the best game out there, or the kind of superhero game you might be looking for, but, I dunno. Might be something to look at. Though, I've heard a lot of things about Master of the Wind as well, so, I would suggest looking at that too.

Here's another game with modern resources for you to look at. That's my game, actually. I got about half these tiles from a website that doesn't exist any more and made the other half myself. I'm sure there are a dozen other websites that still have those tiles but I couldn't point you to any of them. Feel free to use the tilesets, I suppose. Some things in the tileset are from Wild ARMs or Tales of Phantasia though. I don't use them in the game any more, but if you use my tilesets you might have some difficulty picking those tiles out. Sorry. Maybe you don't care though.
Here's a website with a bunch of other free-to-use modern tilesets for RPG Maker XP.
And here's an official graphics pack with modern graphics for RPG Maker VX and VX Ace, though it costs the moneys.
These are three very different styles so mixing and matching probably isn't the way to go.

I've seen plenty of modern tilesets while browsing the web I'm sure you can find what you need.
Since you might not want to build your superhero sprites from scratch I'll give you a link to a great sprite resource that has some Super Hero characters.

Please don't necropost in a topic from six months ago just to say "that's neat"
Almost anything is possible in PC RPG Makers. I could understand your skepticism coming from the garbage ones on PSX/PS2. Unless you're looking for developing something in 3D, your idea is probably possible and the resources available are vast.
Only thing RPGmak has a real problem with is something that demands physics, like platforming, otherwise you're pretty much capable of making whatever.
