[RM2K3] FUTURE PROOFING

I notice every year its harder and harder to play rm2k3 because it runs on a low resolution and incompatible with most newer graphic cards. Would it be possible to create a plugin that you can adjust the native resolution of rm2k3, so that it works with newer graphics card? If so could you give me pointers how to go about doing this and are there already such plugins?
The only thing close to that is Cherry's AnotherFullscreenMode, which has to be launched externally after the game has started. I wrote a plugin that auotomates it here: http://rpgmaker.net/engines/rm2k3/utilities/61/

It basically just upscales the game to the desktop resolution, and adds support for filters, at the cost of framerate (which kind of sucks). I don't have the source for it AFM, so I can't implement it directly into a plugin yet. I'm not skilled enough as a programmer to do any sort of re-rendering. Something like openGL would be nice though.

I am thinking a lot about the future of 2k3 though. I made a Xinput (Xbox controllers) plugin that supports key mapping and force feedback. I've been meaning to release it. It's very stable at the moment. I am also writing a plugin that integrates with gamejolt.com, so you can add achievements and leaderboards to your game. That plugin is about 95% done. I have to use AFM myself since the game crashes in full screen mode. I didn't know that there was a plugin to launch AFM with the game, very useful.

An xbox input, that is awesome! I've always wanted to use my controller to play rpg maker. It would be awesome to have an online leaderboard for rm2k3 as well, cant wait!
