!SCHOOL IS ON IT'S WAY!
Posts
So, quick discussion thread about school coming back from summer (even though some peoples start earlier than others)
1. Are you still in school?
if so:
2. What grade are you going into?
3. When do you go back to school?
4. What classes are you taking?
5. Where will you be doing "back to school shopping"?
6. Are you excited? Do you look forward to it?
Go ahead and fill it out. If you are in university, tell us the year you are going into, as opposed to the grade.
1. Yes
2. 11
3. September 2
4. I am taking Biology 11, Web Design 11, Concert Band 11, Japanese 11, and then all of my mandatory courses, which consist of Math 11, Socials 11, and English 11. I might have missed one, but whatever.
5. Staples is good for most of the school stuff. Same with Zellars.
6. I am actually far more excited than most years, since it will mean both seeing my friends again, but also time off of work. It will also force me back into being on a regular sleeping schedule, since mine right now is so out of place.

ah it's like uhh year 12 is like 1st year of college except in highschool form o.o
Aussie is weird
No it's not weird, that's exactly how it's done where I live. It goes on for two years then you leave for uni after year 13.
I took animation in grade 10. I hated it. I knew how easy all the stuff was that I was doing, so I said to myself "eh, it's not that hard, I can slack for a day". I then did that almost every day, and thus, didn't pass by much.
Since animation is my major, I can sadly not afford to goof off, as it is one of the most time-consuming things imagineable. =P
As a side note, those animation summary classes aren't really a good indicator of the amount of work needed to make animation films. Just FYI for anyone thinking of going into it.

My high school don't really have something like animation, they have a mandatory computers 1 and computers 2. But I'll need to go to a good college for that, maybe MIT if I can get a scholarship or Brown's College in Rhode Island. I want to program and maybe design video games. Any suggestions for a college?
1. In College
2. Going into my 3rd year in College
3. This upcoming Tuesday
4. I'm only taking two this semester, Math and Psychology
5. Wal-Mart I guess
6. I'm looking forward to hanging out with my friends, but not so much the schoolwork part.

1. Still in school, sadly. >=[
2. College freshman.
3. August 31st. Ugh.
4. College Writing II, Introduction to Psychology, Elementary French I, Experiments in Creative Writing
5. Uh, already done.
6. I have pretty mixed feels about going, to be honest. I am truly, genuinely elated to finally be able to leave home and do my own thing, but at the very same token, that thought sort of scares me. It took me quite a long while to make the friends I had in High School, as I can occasionally be a bit of a withdrawn person, and I just don't want to go through that again where I'm going.
The school isn't exactly my intended college, either, so I'm sort of forcing my way through the experience in an effort to ultimately have the freedom to transfer accordingly. I'm sure an open mind will be key to getting by, though; so I suppose I'll just have to wait and see what happens!

I hope you do DAMN well on those SATs for MIT or Brown, man. =P
Since computer science is a popular degree, most colleges will have a decent program. Just research engineering and computer science schools. You don't necessarily need to break the bank on MIT or Brown, though it looks nice if you do.
As for game design, it's a new kind of degree so I don't know what would make a good game design program. A lot of people say it's not a good idea to get one, but I suspect that is already changing and they will become totally legitimate. RIT's (my school) game design program is supposedly rated very highly, though.
Well school started for me last wednesday, so just think of whatever I write and put it into past tense.
1. Yes
2. Junior Year (11th grade, whatever)
3. Already back
4. Fitness, Spanish II, American Government, Band, Physics, English III, Trigonometry, Chemistry II
5. Uhhh.. Wal-mart?
6. Do you look forward to it? Not excited. My days seem soo much longer than last year. It sucks majorly.

RIT? I'll check it out thanks, and my SAT are pretty good but I do need to work harder to get into MIT or Brown. My Freshman year we ahd to take PSATs which are usually for Sophmores and I scored pretty high even compared to most Sophmore. But yeah I thought of if all else fails DeVry. I also thought of COllin's College but it's Pheniox so I'll have to outweigh my options.
