Protip: Do not go to DeVry. It's a notorious scam school - at least, so I hear from the person I know that went there.
is your school "Rochester Institute of Technology"?
1. Yes
2. In between my first year and second year(skipped a semester) of college
3. I am in college now.
4. Easy courses. College English, Math, etc. A few are online courses.
5. At my college.
6. Excited? No. But I always look forward to the girls, and chatting with friends.
By the way, what is everyone's grading scale like? It isn't a normal grading scale where I live, as far as I know. And I really despise it.

Neo: At RIT, we only get letter grades of A, B, C, D and F. No +'s or -'s. Kind of a bitch!
Well, I thought the +'s and -'s went away once you got out of middle school.
The grading scale here works like this:
93-100: A
84-92: B
77-83: C
70-76: D
69 and below: F
I'm just wondering if anybody else has it like this. I do, and it really frustrates me sometimes when I get a 90 or something, and it's not an A!

1. Are you still in school?
Yes.
2. What grade are you going into?
I'm in a weird situation. I am technically a first year in college, but I have a status of a Junior because I graduated out of community college during my high school years.
3. When do you go back to school?
I don't get back into school until September 21st. Woo!
4. What classes are you taking?
A few exploratory classes to get the hang of a four year university before I delve into pre-medical classes.
5. Where will you be doing "back to school shopping"?
Office Depot, Wal Mart and IKEA.
6. Are you excited? Do you look forward to it?
I suppose so.
Why?
Yes.

For my old school's graphics department if you got below an 80 it was a D.
Why?
1. Are you still in school?
Ugh.... yes.
2. What grade are you going into?
4th Year of my Honours BA in History (Minors in Film & Classics)
3. When do you go back to school?
Haha, pretty soon I guess I'd better pay my tuition!
4. What classes are you taking?
Seminar in Cold War Studies, Seminar in Canadian First World War Studies, Film Genre: Science Fiction, Western Philosophy before 1600, Classical & Prehistorical Mythology
5. Where will you be doing "back to school shopping"?
Idk closet full of books?
6. Are you excited? Do you look forward to it?
Not really. University is exhausting. I'll be glad when its over.

@ Blitzen, it's no wonder you always have such kick ass things to say, you study hard man. Those classes would drive me nuts. Also, you don't look like the kind of guy that would study such things to me. I always thought you looked like a tradesman.
@ Neophyte, I am in high school, so that might make a difference, however, I believe ours goes like this:
86-100 = A
73-85 = B
67-72 = C+
60-66 = C
50-60 = C-
<50 = I or F
Note: We get a certain thing called an I where I live. Here is how it works. If you are below 50% before a report card, the teacher of that course can (which in most cases they will, but there may be exceptions) give you an "I package" which is just a huge pile of work. Complete it all, and you will be given a 50% C-. Don't complete it, and you get an F. Teachers are only allowed to give out 1 I package per student.
Thought I would share all of this with you. Also, we only have the +'s and -'s on our C's, there is no such thing as an A+ here.

Wow. Eighty-six percent A? What leverage.
Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha.

1. Are you still in school? Yeah.
if so:
2. What grade are you going into? The grade I'm IN is eleventh.
3. When do you go back to school? Started Tuesday.
4. What classes are you taking? Honors LA III, Band, Chemistry, Honors Algebra II, French I, Personal Finance, and Government. D:
5. Where will you be doing "back to school shopping"? I think my mom did it at Wal-Mart.
6. Are you excited? Do you look forward to it? Kind of, but not really. I have to get up early for marching band every morning and that sucks ass.
@Neophyte: For my class and the class above me, +'s and -'s don't matter for us, but for all the classes below us (class of '11, '12, etc into enternity), they actually affect your GPA.
If I had started school a year late I'd have to work harder. Lucky me, haha.

This is the same department that had teachers that would mark you down a grade letter if you didn't show up for a class and wouldn't let you in the room if you were a minute late.
Having said that, I aced all the classes so they probably weren't too bad.

stuff
Your school board is made up of idiots.
Haha, yup, sounds like school district 23. It seems every year they talk of a no smoking policy anywhere in sight of the school, and claim that anyone seen smoking near or on school property will be immediately suspended.
Yup, supervisors walk past a crowd of about sixty smoking students every break.

haha when i was at school the teachers didn't even care if the students would smoke so long as they didn't do it in class or in front of others. A few of the teachers would join them at the back of the school.
Well I want to murder all of the smokers, and here is why:
Every day I walk through a massive cloud of smoke. Mind you, I am used to being around it, as my parents are quite heavy smokers, but it's nothing like this. Not to mention the smell of cheap cigars and weed.

Yeah i know. A friend of mine tells me all the time how she spots students leaving the school and just start smoking with each other. It really disgusts me to know that the parents actually buy them the cigarettes.
Warning: Preachy frustrated post from someone who has been in the belly of the beast:
We're entering a new era, where public school teachers and parents alike want to be "chums" with their students and children, instead of role models, mentors, and if needed, harsh disciplinarians... because that would "hurt their self-esteem"...
Some moms encourage their teenage girls to dress as sexily as possible which teaches young girls that they truly are mere objects, they condone substance abuse, they prefer to pump their children full of ritalin than actually be parents, they protect their children from teachers and administrators who actually want to discipline or give low grades because "my child can do no wrong," and so on.
DISCLAIMER:
Of course, there are exceptions, there are a lot of amazing teachers, parents, and students.

Spare the rod, spoil the child.
As true today as it was when it was written...? Call me barbaric but I wouldn't have a problem with chewing out a student with some cutting Catholic guilt if I was a teacher, or hitting my kids if I decided it was the best form of discipline (I'd never hit my kids out of anger or frustration though). I grew up in a place where you're supposed to spoil your wife, not your kids.

Ahaha, completely agree with all of this.
