CloseApologies in advance if this is a inappropriate forum to ask this, but I want to learn scripting. How would I do so? Any suggestions on websites or the likes that would teach me that isn't outdated?

Well, first you need to know what language you want to learn. There are many. If it's for a certain engine you need to see which script language that uses.
Because there are quite a few different script languages out there.
Now, if you're using RM VX Ace, there is a good series of articles that were released recently about Ruby (the scripting language used in Ace). Go check out the Article area for them (under the Development header).
