EasyRPG Player is an open source RPG Maker 2k/3 game interpreter.
It is cross platform and works on Windows, Mac OS X, GNU/Linux, Android and more.
Recently, EasyRPG Player vastly improved the HTML5 port. This means you can play games from your browser. To demonstrate the new features, some playable games have been hosted and linked from this post.
Requirements:
- A modern web browser (Firefox, etc.)
- A lesser than 10 years old computer
Click on some of the following links to play them from your browser. No plugins are required, just JavaScript.
The Gray Garden (English translation):
https://easy-rpg.org/play/?game=the_gray_garden
Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea (English Translation):
https://easy-rpg.org/play/?game=wadanohara
Ib (English Translation):
https://easy-rpg.org/play/?game=ib
Features:
- Save and load works, it is stored in the browser with IndexedDB.
- Audio works, keyboard works, full screen works.
- On demand asset downloading for fast game startup.
Caveats:
- Some stability issues (possibly race conditions due to async asset loading).
- HTML5 Web Audio API lacks proper mixing conversion and may sound weird due to short buffers (browser/emscripten issue).
Enjoy and please give us feedback.

IB is already available on the site. What is the use of this? I mean, great for you that it's now browser playable but perhaps you should post this on your game page as a blog. You know, since it's about the game and all. :DDD
This is really neat! I'm at work so I can't play with it but it's good to see your efforts in porting RM2k games moving ahead. I'm assuming this is just a proof of concept with the issues mentioned on EasyRPG's HTML5's blog post. I'd give it a spin with my own 2k3 game once available and a bit more mature (my game is 99% battles which may be problematic)
Yes, it is still a proof of concept, however this particular game is working pretty well currently and playable until the end, so it was a good candidate to demonstrate the interpreter status.
EasyRPG Player 0.3 will be released soon with new features: vehicles, timers, infinite scroll maps, significant battle improvements and around a hundred of bug fixes.

Ah, see, the lack of details in your post about what, exactly, you were trying to show off really doesn't help make things clear. Perhaps you should have added that it was to show off the new program or something.
Thanks Liberty, I've updated the post with detailed information, updated links with some more games.
Is somebody interested to host his/her own game on the website to be played/tested online? :)

If you get crackling noise under Windows you have to open the Windows Audio settings (Sound) -> Click "Speaker" -> Settings -> Advanced -> Set "Default format" to "24bit, 44100 Hz". Naming of that settings depends on your hardware, but must be 44100. Then restart your browser.
This is a limitation of the WebAudio API. It does not support settings a custom frequency (yet)... :(. We weren't able to work around this issue, yet.
