Could I BE any more Chandler Bing from Friends (TM)?

I don't think anyone can fault Kanye's production - it's the reason Graduation is geniunely one of my favourite albums ever. I've never really felt much for his rapping, though...he's decent, but his verses are usually buried by whoever he's collaborating with.

The game had 7000+ downloads before this article.

And in a day and a half it's had a thousand more. It's no Pom, but it'll probably drive a bit more traffic to the site which is always a plus in terms of ad revenue and perhaps one or two new members.

I don't know jack shit about hiphop, and honestly I don't plan on learning, but isn't Kanyes music shit even among hiphop music or rap or whatever he does?

That was the impression I had. I thought Kayne was only famous because of his temper?

If you listen to his album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy from front to back, you might realize how expansive his range is. From early 2000s hip hop to now, he's influenced many facets of culture whether people like it or not. He's purposefully obnoxious, and the bragadoccio and ego is part of what drives hip hop. The rebellion, the pure acidic anti-establishment attitude, it all comes as part and parcel to the package. Over the years Kanye has been a genre-definer. Others ape his production. When he introduced sped-up soul samples as backgrounds to beats, it soon became a cliche, much like the style of mafia film The Godfather introduced to the world. Not everyone's a fan of Ye, but most recognize his contribution to hip hop, especially the production side. He's a creative, and he's usually either underrated or overrated by haters or blind fans.

If you follow hip hop closely, you'll start to learn the language, you'll understand that the lyricism goes deeper than the n-slurs non-initiates typify hip hop and rap artists to overuse, and realize that there's subtle yet definite signs of storytelling going on. The upper tier of rap artists (atmospheres above the Iggy Azalea crust) can deliver on many fronts.

Of course, not everyone loves Kanye. But if you don't love Kanye, you might find someone else to like. Lupe Fiasco is an ex-collaborator, but he could be on the opposite side of the spectrum conscious-wise. His rhyme schemes on his latest album Tetsuo & Youth are labyrinthine, uncovering new meanings with each listen. When listening to this album, google the lyrics and pay close attention. I recommend Genius.com, as it includes relevant annotations to provide further insight. Other artists I would recommend are Run the Jewels, MF DOOM, Cunninlynguists, BIG KRIT, Kendrick Lamar, Earl Sweatshirt, Ghostface Killah.
