FINAL FANTASY: RECORD KEEPER

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Don't sell growth eggs! Use them!!!!!!
Sell the dumb 1* and 2* equipment. And maybe 1* ability orbs, if you're really hurting. But really, if you log on for the orbfest this weekend, you'll get a nice chunk of money. I'd say during the weekend orbfest event you just shouldn't spend stamina on anything else except the orbfest.

Nothing reveals Humanity so well as the games it plays. A game of betrayal, where the most suspicious person is brutally murdered? How savage.

Oh yeah, selling growth eggs is not a good call. After one orbfest you'll never hurt for gold ever again, while growth eggs are something you'll be hurting for all the time with the huge amount of characters in the game.

Heh... Got Shinra hat in daily draw.
wow. just wow, jude.
i'll do ffx bonus battles tonight, i think... fire emblem is distracting. assuming seymour still uses that big aoe physical attack, i'm glad I have vanille (MC2 when!?!?!)
Interesting how much getting a good relic can change up your whole party's dynamic. And how much not getting one has had me hoard all of my Orbs, 2-Star and 3-Star relics so I can just upgrade them. Of course you rekt Seymour cause your party is full of beefcakes!
If you're having problems with money Leapfrog, then keep running the final level of the weekend cactuar orbfests (the orb level not the upgrade materials one.) I would usually never get higher than 400,000 Gil and would always be hurting. Last weekend I got up to 2 million and I've never had less than 1,800,000 even after upgrading, honing, and egging almost everything in my inventory. I would say selling almost anything is detrimental in this game.

You would have items if you didn't have 300 mythril.
Uh... Not much to this anniversary event, eh? Maybe the second part is better. Cloud's stupid costume comes out tomorrow evening as well. I don't really want anything on that banner except for the sword, so I plan on skipping it, but it might be hard to resist pulling on that sword since I've got a decent mythril stash accumulating.
Yeah, I haven't felt the need to actually use growth eggs yet, but selling them seems to be not very worthwhile now that I'm dealing with much higher amounts of gil. I guess I'll start holding onto them.
You can resist!
I've struggling to recover from overspending on FF6 and then succumbing to a bunch of smaller pulls on FF5 and FFX, so I'm also skipping this FF7 one. And reluctantly giving up on X despite no blitzball.
I'd like Cloud's new sword or something decent for Nanaki, but it seems much better to wait.
I'm also hurting for a good fist weapon, but I did get the Electrostatic Rod (Reno) and Yoshiyuki (Sephiroth) last FF7 event, so I feel like I should be spreading my synergies out and holding out for other banners.
Speaking of which, I haven't been paying too much attention to soul breaks before now, but now that the difficulty is increasing I'm starting to need to use characters I have relics for. Beatrix, Golbez and Sephiroth, with their multi-hit SBs, are really helping out.
Once I get him to level 50 (he's at 45) Dark Cecil is going to be my first character with a unique soul break (Darkness) AND a broken cap, so he'll probably be my MVP for a while.
As much as I dislike the RNG stopping me from getting relics for characters I like (PCecil, Nanaki), I do really enjoy how it pushes my play style in directions it might not taken otherwise.

I was barely able to beat Yojimbo before he used his third Zanmato. that attack would have wiped my remaining three characters, Tidus, Garnet and Auron, who were all at low health.
I may have barely scraped by and gotten a Novice rating, but I now have my first SC2! Pretty pleased about that. Now let's see if I can get enough mythril and pull SB equipment for Yuna as well.
Edit: Wow, Spectral Keeper was really easy. Much more easy than Yojimbo. I would have mastered the battle if Delay Attack had actually slowed him.

This isn't the anniversary event. That will be in march. This Goldor thing is part of the 10 million downloads event, and it's going on right now for both versions of the gae.
Yes, Yojimbo and Spectral Keeper make for good self-esteem boosts. Same with the 10 Million dungeon. I wonder if Stage 2 of Goldor Manor will hit for 1,000 at a time?
Also there's a lot that's gonna be happening in March starting with this weekend/after Advent Children. I mostly don't care for it, but DeNa is not exempt from VII favoritism.

Unlocked Red XIII's and Cid's record materia during the new event. All that remain are Gladiator and Yuna.
Annoyingly, my last Hand of the Emperor RW just got replaced by a Fenrir Overdrive. My second-to-last was replaced during the last FF7 event by Landscaper (which I unfollowed during the FF10 event, hoping that the user would change back after Yuffie was over, but nope). I'll probably never be able find a new HotE, which is why I need my own at some point.
Using Sunday to level up some FF8 characters for next week, since my FF7 dudes are already really strong. While I was at it, I checked my synergy and I won't be pulling on FF8, though the banners are quite good I need to save mythril. My synergy is excellent, though, but I forget about it because they're almost all generic items. I've got two 5-star swords, a 5-star dagger, two 5-star guns (one of which is for Irvine), a 5-star light armor, and a 5-star bracers with group-Cura on them. So I'll be just fine. I don't think I've even used the Betrayal Sword yet... Is this the first FF8 event we've had since the beginner's choice banner was released? That's where I got this sword.
Welp, 100 gems and 50 mithril netted me 12 3-stars. The FFT event can't get here soon enough to put me out of my misery.
Also, this event's music seems like it should be accompanying black and white footage of some guys on horseback robbing a train.

I just pulled a 5* again. Finally. That's one 5* in 33 relics, blegh. At least that poleaxe is pretty good. I didn't have any 5* spears yet, and confu chance is always nice. Also Faris can use it. Unfortunately, I pulled my fourth FFVI Crystal Helmet, meaning I pulled my first useless 4*.
I counted all of my stuff. I've averaged about one 5-star relic per 35 mythril spent, though that assumes I've spent all 1750 mythril on relic draws, which is definitely not true. Since May, I have almost exclusively done 11-pulls, so that extra item helps offset all of that inventory upgrading a bit, but I am probably still ahead of the average by a noteworthy amount. Currently, we have about a 1/8 chance on each pull, and I'm looking at a minimum of 1/7.

This event definitely has the most interesting set of dungeons of any event in an extremely long time. I rewatched Advent Children a few months ago. It's really nice that they created new boss fights based on the movie instead of just reusing FF7 bosses.
Just sort of disappointed I can't actually experience any of them, because even on elite mode they all die before they get two turns.

I duo events up to difficulty 95/99 at this point. Way more fun! I usually use whoever needs to cough up an RM. I finally got Nanaki to drop his 100% support refresh RM3...
edit: lifesiphon is my best friend

too bad tidus had to DIE LIKE THE LITTLE BITCH HE IS after the 50% hp ultimate dispel, before i could get ss2 (my rw) and oerba's boon/shellga back up

can master him with this, 99% sure. just wanted to clear on my first so that i don't need to worry about it if i don't feel like using up 60 stamina before thursday =P
my first ultimate without using tyro. had to use ss2 rw, like i said, but it was worth it for the sheer damage output. i might replace boost with r4 valefor, since i didn't get to use boost anywhere near as often as i would've liked anyway.
sbs, to explain why i didn't use tyro:
-Tidus: Slice & Dice (~22k dmg... woulda been more if HE DIDN'T DIE BEFORE WHIP KICK)
-Yuna: Salvation (medica) from Tungsten Bracer (actually did a respectable ~1k heal)
-Fran: Whip Kick (L80 support with debuff SB is a fucking godsend. fran is my elite goddess of ultimate ass-kicking, paired with her sister vanille)
-Vanille: Oerba's Boon (speaks for itself. she and fran have seen every single ultimate i've bothered with since grabbing their relics)
-Auron: Dragon Fang (makes cross cleave and lance of atrophy deal pathetic damage. also deals 19,998 dmg to seymour because of mortrisorption. fucking ~450 attack mate.)
edit2: due to only having r3/r2 magic bd/full break, thunderstroke on fran turned out to be pretty nice. helped me eek out a few more SB charges for whip kickery.
edit3: what makes this ult tolerable is that they removed the need to bring dispel, since seymour doesn't buff his defenses anymore. i'm very very glad that they removed that =P

With the way Yuna is setup, there's no reason she can't be swapped for Tyro, but I think she's setup really weird in general and I dislike it. However potent you think Healer and that Salvation are, it'd be way better to have Sentinel's Guard and then a healing RW with an extra effect, like +Attack or Haste or whatever.
I'm approaching 100 mythril soon. Apparently when Japan got the lucky draws, they were also gifted enough mythril to cover all three of them, so I'm just going to assume it'll be the same for us, meaning I don't need to include it in my projections. FFT is the fifth event from now, meaning there will be at least 50 mythril available for that. Then 20 more event mythril up until the Relm event, plus at least 30 mythril from log in bonuses. So I should have no issues doing an 11-pull on FF2, FFT, FF6 (going for Celes's new Runic or any mage gear), and one SSB banner whenever that happens.
I might try doing Ultimate Bahamut Sin without Stoneskin, and maybe bring Tifa back out of retirement since I haven't used her in awhile. We'll see.

...I guess you're right. Tyro's poor stats won't matter if I aren't attacking with him anyway, and Tyro can equip the aoe Boost from Bard. I only needed the two SGs anyway, so he should be fine.
I gotta get through these Advent Children elites, but it's Tuesday.

I did the elites yesterday. Hopefully there's something interesting this week, because if you paid attention to the announcement then you'll see that the bonus battles are still several days away.
I've fallen way behind on Ice and especially Non-Elemental orbs because I honed Valefor and Maduin to R4, and also honed Flare up to R3. Additionally, I haven't been hitting my daily much for those because of event and orbfest timing. Unless some new 5-star summon is released at some point, I'll probably end up crafting Odin because I have excess Dark Orbs and not enough Non-Elemental for Bahamut, but I think both are a ways off for me. Obviously I'm always behind on Black Power--especially Power--but so is everybody else, so that's normal.
If Sentinel's Guard appears on one of the SSB banners, then there's a good chance that'll be the one I pull on so long as the other items on it are also useful for me. You have no idea how much I envy your SG. Charging up a Stoneskin can be pretty dangerous when Y'shtola is also my primary healer, since there have been so many events where a boss drops a fat nuke immediately after Ultimate Dispel. As long as I have a synergized mage weapon, I'm able to bring Yuna as a nuker and still have a fat group heal to cover that problem, but it's not worth bringing her if her summons are only going to do 5k or less damage. Plus, Tyro is such a great gap filler that I use him pretty often even without a great limit break, having SG would make it even easier to bring him along.
As bad as Tyro's stats are, when he's under the effects of Drunk Cecil's Boostga he's over the Attack soft cap anyway, and if he's healing with Curaja he doesn't need vast amounts of Mind. Tyro has the stat that matters most, though, and that's HP. Once you've got your mitigation up, HP scales way better than Defense/Resist, not that his defensive stats are much worse than your usual support or mage anyway.
Actually, I just read on reddit that the Abyss dungeons all have a 25-mythril banner that has relics for every synergized character, which always includes Tyro. This means that every Abyss banner, so far, has included Sentinel Grimoire, so I'll probably skip that SSB banner unless it has doper items on it than the others.
