Now that machinist abilities are out, I'll probably start bringing Edgar to every fight that has a boss vulnerable to Blind or Silence, even if those statuses aren't critical to victory. Really high damage modifier.

You've probably seen these sprites when FF: All The Bravest was a thing. ATB was just a terrible cashgrab and I think Cloud Record Keeper was Squeenix's answer to the backlash.

I liked having HotE because I've usually got my defensive buffs covered so having a group +Attack buff that also stacks with my Soul Eater (Drunk Cecil's group +Attack buff) is a good fit. But, yeah, I can't do that anymore and I never see new HotE's show up in the three random RW slots. Hopefully I'll see new ones between the upcoming FF2 and slightly less upcoming FF12 banners.
Just for you, because of the coincidence of this whole interaction (and because the Cloud event is done ;) ), I will put my RW back to HotE. Despite the fact that my RW rewards have been through the roof of late. Friend code: q8PY

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I've started doing Elite White Fork Tower (FF5) instead of daily dungeons on elemental orb days. It drops almost as many power orbs as the White Power and Black Power daily dungeons, since every single enemy in the dungeon drops nothing but power orbs, and the boss sometimes drops major power orbs.
I need power orbs about a hundred times as badly as I need any other type of orb. Fork Tower's not worth doing on White Power or Black Power days, but it's way better than doing the lightning/wind dungeon or the fire/earth dungeon.
The fact that it's so easy doesn't hurt either. Despite being a 130 difficulty dungeon, you sure are completely immune to damage if you bring Gilgamesh.

LockeZ, that sounds tempting, but I'm in a weird spot where I need some orbs but not others. Even though I have too many Dark orbs, I don't have enough Holy orbs so I need to do that one. Even though I have an abundance of Earth orbs, I need Fire orbs. Even though I have an abundance of Wind orbs, I need Lightning orbs... So even those days are unskippable for me right now.

I keep one of everything, no matter how useless, and fully upgrade where possible. For a long time I had to run Gil and Material dailies to keep up with it, especially because I played for months before realizing you only needed to upgrade one item before you could combine it... of course I have an abundance of both ever since they started doing those orbfest events.
Sort your inventory by oldest gained and let's see what you've got. As you can see, I got very lucky on my first pull, which tainted my expectations on the next dozen.

Neat. Did you ever farm the older dungeons for drops? I know the first few sets of dungeons each had a unique 2-star item that was a possible drop from the boss, though I'm sure most or all of those items are also obtainable by random relic draws. For some reason around dungeon update 4 or 5 they started making new dungeons drop upgrade materials instead of equipment.
I haven't been hoarding equipment but kinda regret it now because that collection is neat. My only obsessive completionism in this game has been beating events and collecting characters/crystals/materia.

You gotta go back two pages to see my first relics. I didn't draw anything good until the first Soul Breakfast (because I didn't give a shit about all the ff6/7/8 events, so I mostly hoarded).

Saucemistress Adel defeated, but not mastered. Used an advance + retaliate strategy, which somehow resulted in using too many actions even though my retaliator was doing 9000 damage per hit. Too many turns spent defending, I guess.
Strategy-wise, aside from Advantaliate, I didn't do anything special except bring two healers, magic breakdown, and full break. Both of the healers ran completely out of healing spells before the battle ended.
I could easily master it if I spent a mythril to start the fight off with Rikku's soul break meter full, so I could keep her +res buff up for the whole fight instead of just the last 40%. But I'm not sure it's worth it. I mean, I want the power orbs, but I really don't want the white orbs, and I also really don't want to spend another hour and a half.

Yeah, the only Ult i've gone back to Master (if I didn't the first time) so far was... Barthandelus? I think there was a more recent one, too. It's usually not worth the time for me, even if I COULD do it. I've been trying to cut back on my mobile gaming time, and FFRK is the only survivor.
Catching up on stamina shards today (hence the in-use FF13 items, I'm doing Dungeon Update 14...), then XP tomorrow, then I'll (re-?)cream Adel. All phys definitely seems the way to go.

If retaliate is doing 9k then you don't need to defend and only need one healer or Carbuncle. You'll interrupt every Ultima before she can use it. I only got hit by the first Ultima and I think you'll do more damage than me.

What? How do you interrupt Ultima? I don't think it's interruptable. Are you thinking of Bahamut-SIN's Gigaflare?

Dwmage Adel enough and she moves on to another action. You can tell you've stopped Ultima because black smoke evaporates from her body and she starts charging a new spell. I suspect her big spells are scripted, and what's happening is you're triggering her next scripted spell, canceling the current one in turn.
yup. she casts ultima at or shortly after transitioning into her weak/very weak phases, and hitting those phases is an automatic ATB reset. my strategy has been to save up a shitton of SB bars and then just destroy her around 35% so I only have to brace for 1-2 ultimas throughout.
and being behind on dungeon updates, i'm really glad WoL's MC is finally mine... that holy damage RM woulda been nice a few months ago ;V
edit: Pulled four times on Freya's banner... got another protectga ribbon. Decided not to combine because my only other ff9 armors are the first protectga ribbon and one of those shitty combined brigadines.

I got Power Sash on the last FF9 event, if that's what you mean by Protectga Ribbon. It's quite nice and I've used it off-record many times already, though it's obviously less important for you since you've got Vanille's thing.
Already got Warrior of Light's new Record Materia while doing the daily this morning, so that went well.
I'm feeling mentally strong enough to resist pulling on the next FF9 banner, in part because I've decided I might as well pull on both FF2 banners, unless I get like four relics on the first pull, since I've got so little good gear from there. Some items are definitely better than others, but even if I get something less useful like Leila's dagger, it still means I've got a hastega alternative when I don't have access to a good dagger or gun for Sazh.
I've barely started the current FF9 event but I scoped out Freya. She seems kind of average, but she's the only dragoon who can use breakdowns so she'll still have her niche for now, and I'll probably fit her into my Silver Dragon party. Speaking of Silver Dragon, Bartz is an obvious shoe-in for me. Blade Wing is wind damage and I've got a Pinwheel throwing weapon he can use.

I dunno about the FF2 banner. I like Minwu and Leila, but... I'd rather do 50 on an soul breakfast banner with a double-broken black weapon weapon and my other 50 on FFT, then start saving up to try to get Yuna's BSB.
Anyway, just creamed Adel in the nick of time. I lost two badges in actions/damage... I coulda just thrown SG up a little earlier to try to salvage that badge, but it's not worth it, especially because I know I'm not gonna win those action badges back. My setup was super durdley until the last chunk when I go all-out with SBs.
On Garland now. I should have brought some sort of wall, but I got complacent since he's not a real ultimate... whoopsie, dat Soul of Chaos though.

Yuna's BSB looks kind of shitty to me... like I'd rather use her other soul breaks, except that holy damage one. Oddly, Kimahri's weapon looks like the best item on the banner. I assume the Attack/Defense bonus shares the same ID as Hand of the Emperor, meaning it'll stack with all of the other attack buffs in the game. I still have the elite dungeons on the FF9 event to finish, since I used Saturday for orbs and Sunday for XP.
