I thought Wolf's Rain was so boring. I don't have DSL, so whenever I get a chance to download it's at a lan party when I haul my tower over to someone else's house who has DSL. Which I alt-tab out of stuff to que more downloads. Normally I get about 8 gigs of anime every time there is one. Now there's rarely any lan parties. I still randomly show up to steal bandwith sometimes. Not enough for my friend to get pissy with me though, he doesn't care. I think my favorite so far is Samurai Champloo. I've watched it once in English and about 4 times through as the fansub. I liked it because it was fast paced and actually had blood, killing, etc. I would've liked Rurouni Kenshin more if the last 30 episodes weren't filler and death was more involved. What's a samurai who can't kill? I also liked Darker Than Black, Black Cat, Trinity Blood, Bleach, Blood+, Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, Naruto, Full Metal Alchemist, Fooly Cooly, S-Cry-Ed, Paranoia Agent, Ghost In The Shell, Samurai 7, Ergo Proxy, DBZ, Evangelion, Yu Yu Hakusho, Inuyasha (At least until the story didn't start repeating itself 500 freaking times), Trigun... and a whole lot more. Those are just off the top of my head for now.
Manga... I don't read Manga. Not my thing.

That said, if that's how you roll you might check out the Kenshin prequels (I think they're released as Samurai X over here). Much bloodier.
I forgot to add: Osamu Tezuka's "Pheonix" and "Buddha"! Also, AKIRA. The manga, not the controversial movie.
I wasn't especially impressed with Soul Eater, but I do agree that the opening is epic.

I read the manga of Buddha and i thought it sucked. Is the anime any better?
@ Shadowtext: Eh, it was about half and half. I've watched Samurai X too. It was great. Although I didn't like how sometimes the water and fire was real? I just think the series itself would've been better if there was more killing involved. I know he vowed not to be a manslayer anymore.

Don't mind my saying but I don't understand why people love Bleach and Naruto so much.
Ah me neither. I never really got into Bleach, naruto i liked the beginning: I actually said to myself "Ah i see why this series is so popular now." But then it started to go away after the episodes progressed... I never really liked those "unending" types of anime, it just starts to go dull after awhile.
Truth be told, I only liked the few beginning episodes of Bleach and I was bored one day and decided to watch Naruto. I already started with them, might as well finish the series. And I agree, Naruto long series of fillers was really annoying.

I hate most anime, but the anime I like I really like.
So, basically, this is how I roll, in rough order of favoritism:
*Serial Experiments Lain
*Cowboy Bebop
*Texhnolyze
*Blame! (Manga)
*Hellsing
*Rurouni Kenshin OVA (Not the series.)
I am also okay with Neon Genesis Evangelion. I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting.

I didn't like bleach at first but it gets interesting at points,it would be alot better though without all of the fillers.
I couldn't really get into the whole Naruto thing though.
I think both shows have potential, but the fact that it is just so long and ... well, more than some of the episodes are off-topic. How can anyone stand watching it for that long? Another anime that falls into this category is Inuyasha.

People mainly watch Naruto and Bleach because whenever they finally (finally...) do get around to a fight, they're actually pretty cool to watch.
I think the thing with Naruto that was really interesting was since their "ninjas" and they talk about how they have to be "deceptive". I think what made it popular was all the deceptive things they put into the series, that really throw you off gaurd and make you say "oh that was smart" or whatnot. Anyway, it was really good with that in the beginning, though i think they stray from it a little later on or whatever and i just lost interest around episode 100 or so...

It is the fighting which everyone loves about Bleach and Naruto. But Bleach is really starting to bore me a bit now. It's just filler after filler, kinda like One Piece.
I also watched "The Vision of Escaflowne" yesterday and it's fucking awesome. If you like the Gundam Series you will definitely like this. I think it's made by the same studio as Gundam.

1.) Johnny Yong Bosch
2.) Rock Lee and Shikamaru
Though actually I'm not that big a fan of either, but they're inoffensive to me so I have no problem watching them on Cartoon Network.
