RPG MAKER 2000 VALUE! IS NOW OUT IN ENGLISH!

Maybe I've become a bit cynical due to me being around since don's 95 translation but of all the great game software enterbrain/Ascii has created people act as if rm2k is their magnum opus. Id rather see an English release of fighter maker or shooter maker than another rehash of rm2k.
Isn't RM-95 supposedly lost?
author=Ratty524author=charblarThe facesets in 2k are both charming and better represent what you can do to address the resolution barriers in the maker. That makes them more appreciable to me than 2k3's blurry messes.
Edit: I bought 2k yesturday because I must own every rpg maker... And I'm laughing at the face sets in 2k to 2k3 it was worth the money.
The facesets are one of the biggest downgrades, going from RM2000 to RM2003. Loved the RM2000 facesets, they're still my favourites amongst all versions of RPG Maker that have come out since then. Actually, I could say the same about the RM2000 RTP. It's still the best RTP that has been made for RPG Maker so far. (RM20003s is pretty similar, with some more details but has a more faded colour palette)
author=Satedauthor=iddalaiNo, there's not. But there's A LOT wrong with RMVX's :)
There's nothing wrong with 2k's chipsets ;)
RMVX RTP is like top down view Minecraft. Blocks everywhere!

Oh no I didn't mean it badly I like the 2k ones a lot more.as you said it really was able to address the resolution barriers

I was agreeing with you. :P
Also lol I think I made a stretch comparing Spore Galactic Adventures to VX, but both are clunky as shit and unenjoyable to use so...

My 25th birthday is coming up on the 30th (a whole quarter century) and I think it'd be the bees knees if someone were to gift RM2k Value to me over Steam. You don't have to if you don't want, but if you've got a few extra dollars, you'd make my day bright. :)
And yes, I'm totally telling others to spend money on me, because I'm a grown up.
EDIT: Thank you so much, Zeigfried_McBacon for making my wish come true. :)
I owe you one, buddy.

Well I said a dumb thing; you can still get the 95 engine, but finding the games is another problem.
author=SatedEven I can't defend VX's tilesets, they are pretty fuckin bad.author=iddalaiNo, there's not. But there's A LOT wrong with RMVX's :)

author=KaliestoPeople made games with it?

I can agree with that!
...and I had totally misinterpreted your last post :P

Because it was never meant to get patch EULA, but assholes pushing for it over and over and causing stress to the people who translated it forced the issue. It's bullshit and should never have happened in the first place. The only reason they went ahead and allowed 2k3 is because it is, effectively, abandoned due to losing the code.
The topic of allowing patches was an issue for me from the beginning, because there are so many improvements by fans that we can never expect all of them to be rebuilt and added into the official product. And we didn't want this to be a downgrade.
author=Archeia_Nessiahauthor=amerkIt would replace it in registry unless you change folders I think. Hard to tell.
Quick question in regards to the legal English RTP. If I download this, will it replace the non-legal version, or will it be in addition to?
No, both can coexist. We changed the registry path.
We just released an update! It makes the battle texts much more usable, finally.

For those users who already got an update in the last 3 hours - sorry, we had an issue in our Steam update which caused all projects opened with this version to be broken. But nothing is lost, the second update we launched minutes ago will automatically repair these projects. The problem was just that accidentally the 2k3 engine was placed there instead of the 2k one.
