Where do ya go to post if you want some folks to try out your game? I guessed here.
http://rpgmaker.net/games/713/ I just uploaded beta 2 of my Rita's Adventure game. Its a comedy game, where you're some hamster that summons Simba from The Lion King and-- anyways, I would like it if you tried it out!
I'm not that amazing at map design, though.

You can use the screenshot thread for concrete feedback on maps here, and you can suggest your game to be reviewed and get feedback for here. (EDIT: in)
Advertising your game is kept to game pages. Otherwise the forums would be flooded to no end.
You could create a blog requesting and searching for feedback (along with some updates), or just updates to generate more buzz and have it as a visable "new thing", or try to pm some seasoned reviewers.
Please do not create threads for it, as tempting as it is.

Do we seriously need to create a page for an incomplete game?
As in, are we completely and absolutely forced to do that?

No one's forcing you to, no. I don't see why you wouldn't, though, because 1) I assume you eventually intend to finish said game, and 2) it's a great promotional tool.
This is actually the last version of the game I'm releasing, since I originally made the game for an ex-girlfriend that ended up breaking up with me and refusing to play it, anyways. Her character is the main character in this game, since the game was a gift for my ex-girlfriend, originally.
So basically, this is as complete as this game is going to get.
Anyways,
Okay, thank you. ^^

Make a gamepage to show it off. Advertising games in the forums are against the site rules.
To submit a gamepage hover over Submissions in the top black bar and pick the Game option. Then follow the directions properly. It will then go into the queue and if it meets the site rules it'll be accepted to the site. If not you'll get a note telling you what to fix in order for it to be accepted.
