CODEX OF ALERA ROLEPLAY

Posts

Well! That makes five, I think that's good, what do you guys think?
Yeah, it looks like a well rounded group enough to start. (Well, two of us have bows, but still! XD)
i dont think having two ranged people is a bad thing.
it could work out really well i think, provide some ranged support
Then we'll start in t-minus 3 hours 30 minutes
Beginning:
The wind swayed the tree tops as the small army marched down the causeway, using the furies crafted into the bricks to move quickly and tirelessly. These were all experienced campaigners, but there were a few younger ones who had just joined in Riva. One of which was Highlord Riva's own adopted son. He was the youngest of the group, and a few of the older more experienced legionnares decided to have some fun with him.
They approached him and pointed at a mountain in the distance. "I challenge you to go up that mountain boy, I'll give you the rest of my pay this year." One offered.
Another laughs. "He wouldn't survive to collect. Old Garados doesn't like having anyone even near him. No one survives the experience."
"Gaius Octavian survived." Another pipes up.
"Yeah, but he was First Lord, not some lowly legionnare."
"Hey! This kid isn't even a legionnare, Riva wanted him to tag along."
"So kid, you ever seen someone lose an arm? or an eye? Have you ever seen blood on the outside of someones body?"
"I'm afraid I haven't" Reize replies simply.
"Of course you haven't, too busy being pampered by Riva's servants."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Quiet back there!" The captain shouts.
"Do you really think this ragtag group can survive a fight with the marat? They can't even work with each other." The captain points out to Ademar.
"With me leading? Yeah we'll be fine."
"It takes more than a leader to be successful in battle. If the legionnares can't work as a unit, we'll be picked apart like the individuals we are." The Captain scolds.
Ademar blows him off and spies a scout hurrying towards them. He stops and jumps off the tired animal. "Sirs! We've got a lot of fury activity up ahead, and a storm is blowing in, we need to take shelter."
"We can deal with it, give this little troup something to stretch their muscles before the actual fighting." Ademar suggests.
"We are to fight and drive back the Marat, let the Fury legions do their job, and we'll do ours." The Captain orders, "We are close to Warnerholt, we'll stay there until the storm blows over, then we'll continue to Bernardholt and on to Princeps Memorium."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gala laughs as she pours on more speed. She is part of the aerial scouts and is having the time of her life. She pulls in close to Maximus, the head of the aerial scouts and is someone who is clearly smitten with her. She twirls around him before speeding up and leaving him there, wide eyed and smiling. She frowns a bit as the order comes in to pull in and head to the nearest Steadholt.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The order works down the line and quickly the small legion arrives at Warnerholt and are accepted in. In the Great Hall of Warnerholt, which was designed to withstand the type of storm that was now pounding outside, the steadholt owner, his name Gabel Warner, is talking to Ademar and the Captain.
"The Marat have been seen at Ottoholt, thank the furies you have arrived. I was afraid we would have to evacuate. It's a very large raiding party."
"Well, the Marat should also be holed up through this like we are, so you can rest easy for tonight." The Captain assures the worried Steadholt holder.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Alex sits down at one of the tables, her helmet removed to allow her full range of her senses. She spies some suspicious activity beack by the stairs leading up. A young boy seems to be concentrating on something. She reaches out with Frost, feeling the anxiousness of the legionnares around her. With some difficulty she manages to find his emotions and feel them out. She feels more anxiety and plain fear, but determination. Alex decides to tell Gabel, but before she can, everything goes south, quickly.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Blaine rests near the fire, watching those around him and using Roanoke to listen in on conversations. He keyed into one where a younger legionnare was trying to get a night to remember out of the Gabel's daughter. From the sounds of it, things were going from bad to worse. Blaine stands up and walks over to the legionnare and stops next to him.
"What do you want pirate?"
"I'm not a pirate, a pirate has a ship, do you see one around?"
"Sorry, what do you want failed pirate?"
"I want you to leave this fine young maiden alone."
"You going to make me?"
"Yeah, I am."
The legionnare tries for a quick punch, but Blaine adds a little speed from Roanoke onto his and dodges and swings his own. It connects solidly. He is about to press his advantage, but someone grabs his armor and yanks him back. "Enough!" The captain's baritone voice shouts. Blaine cringes as the Captain lets go of the armor.
Before reprimands can be given out, the door to the great hall shutters and is ripped away. Windmanes enter the hall and chaos ensues. "What the...?" The Captain says.
"And just when I was getting bored" Blaine says, picking up his bow.

Reize: Far from the door, still being picked on. Full everything
Ademar: right next to the captain and Blaine. full Everything
Blaine: next to the captain and Ademar.Full everything
Gala: At a table with the other Aerial scouts. Full everything
Alex: Near the back, near the stairs and the boy. Full everything

Everyone sees the windmanes

Map:

Things you know:
1) Windmanes are weak to salt, and can be interrupted an torn apart by other wind furies
2) They want to murder you
3) Anything other than furies aren't going affect them, unless salt is involved
2.5) preferred method of attack of windmanes: suffocation and throwing enemies around
4) This many wind manes have to be taken care of quickly, otherwise things are going to get difficult.
Well! Things are starting out quickly, whatcha going to do?
oh! and I updated the OP, you get twelve arrows for the bow.
Alright! It's on, bitches! XD

Just three questions:

1) Did my character heard any of the chaos?

2) What's a Windmane?

3) Worst map ever. :P
lets do this!! but i also have a question.
can we move the tables, like flip them over or hop on top of them?

1) Yes
2) A rogue wind fury(Made out of wind like any wind fury)
3) Time taken to make it; about 10 seconds

Starranger: If you're strong enough, or had enough people to do it.
if thats the case. i take a moment to nock an arrow and look at the opponents, are there a lot of ranged opponents or are most of then ranged? i also move to one of the nearest tables.
Windmanes, refer to my previous post and the beginning of the story for info

Well, no time to waste! Gala's jumping right in there, beckoning the others to join her and tear them apart with our wind furies!
Seiromem...Don't forget to bold actions
Those guys were testing my patience, and I had no intention of getting on a fight. I was about to tell them to leave me alone, when I heard sounds of screams and something that sounded like really strong winds. I told the two legionnares that in front of me:

"Guys! You heard that? We have to go see what's going on!"

Oh, also almost forgot to add those two combat points. +2 in combos!

"Pretty sure there's a horde of rogue wind furies in front of us, not that hard to see!" Gala says to the fool asking what's happening.

"Let's tear 'em up!" Gala dives into the fray to tear the windmanes apart with her own wind fury.
Wait, was that for me Seiromem? Because if it was for me, then I undo my previous dialogue. My status said, "still being picked on", and it wasn't really clear if Reize saw one of those Windmanes already.
Blaine leaps onto the table and begins firing ruthlessly into the crowd of opponents filing into the building. he screams to nearby allies to flip over some tables to provide a safer area to hide and protect the wounded that are bound to pile up.

It was for you. This isn't any annoyed sarcasm or anything, I just assumed the door being torn asunder and howling wind furies barging in trying to kill people would be noticed by everyone. If this isn't the case, then it would make sense in Gala's character, thinking no one could not notice to this sudden assault disturbing the relaxed atmosphere, regardless if they were justly pre-occupied.
"Ah hell, there's that fury activity." Windmanes, explains the storm coming up. "Everyone! Summon your furies and take them out, now!" Might as well summon my Fire fury as well. I'll order him to attack the Windmanes closest to us.
(So, since these things can't be affected by anything not fury-related, what does that mean for metal furies? Assuming my metal fury is in my spear, could I fight these things with said spear? Not gonna unless I have to, just asking. Or am I being a dummy and they can be affected normally by typical weapons?)
