THE BIG BANG (WE HAVE SURVIVED)

Has anyone else noticed that the first picture makes it look like that big long hallway from near the end of Terminator 3? Like, that's the first thing I thought of when I saw it.

Still, this is pretty cool. Hopefully from this, we'll also start getting more research into stuff like fusion power.

Well, considering this is how fusion and fission energy is created, trance... (what I mean to say is that they already do this, as you probably know).

I feel bad for all of the Physics students in the world who have to write reports on this.
large hadron collider?
more like large large hardon collider heh amirite
Craze: I know they're already doing research. I'm saying there needs to be more research. Like, not just Sweds and people that are crazy enough to build huge reactors that governments won't fund.

Also, just realized what would be even cooler: ARC reactors.
I still like how no one's really sure, though!

That is, whether the world will end or not.

But yeah, no.
Yeah, i still don't think the world will end but many people are still fearing for the worst that the world is going to be sucked into a black hole. There have been a few reports of people committing suicide claiming they don't want to be around when "we all die". ::)
Well guys, you can always look at the webcam which monitors this baby.

I truly think that the worst case scenario is a bit of antimatter is made and the machine burns out, and I son't think it will create another "big bang". If that was a possibility, Im positive that we would be certain of it and be capable of much more.

God started the Big Bang, and we are not that powerful, and will never be. If anything this will just make a different kind of big bang....

But that's just an opinion. Who knows what the heck it will do. Only thing I am certain of is that it will not unlock all the secrets of the universe.
God... started the Big Bang? o_o

Now see, to me, that just sounds like a challenge.

Wonder how long till consumers can get their OWN particle colliders? The rule of miniaturization and ever-increasing cost of production for outdated technology insists that we ought to be able to get home models of last generation's particle colliders for like $200 by now, right?

Haha, at first I was watching and I was like "Wow, what a good quality, quick streaming webcam". Then it started going red, and I was like "Woah, did I log in at the right time or what!" And then it turned purple, and I was like "oh, gay, fake..."

Yup, my exact responses

It's neo-creationist thought. Instead of sticking solely to the Bible that God did everything exactly as it says in Genesis, scientific findings are being woven into the story -- thus, if the Big Bang really did happen, then the start of it was God, since he created everything.

Tbh, we still don't know what sparked the Big Bang. There's still a truckload of theories out there as to how. I remember watching a History Channel special on it... Don't remember exactly what they said it might've been though.

It was a joke. I was suggesting that if someone is telling me that it's impossible to do a thing, it's our job to go beyond the impossible, and if necessary, to kick reason to the curb.

So less a joke and more a "Ha ha, only serious" sort of thing.

I, personally, support the ekpyrotic theory.

Only because I can't think of anything more convincing, however.

-This is the only site I have ever found that was deeper than "my dog jst lckd my sis lol". That's like finding an intelligent guard. Wow.
I heard it would take liek 4 months to get up to speed anyway.
Who says I believe in the Big Bang anyways?!
The Big Bang theory was theorized by a Catholic scientist, so the idea that God started it isn't the church taking on beliefs to a secular idea.

Not religious, but it's important to give due.
