NEW USER & HIGHLY CONFUSED

Posts

\(^3^)/ Hello Everyone! I am new here! A little about myself I use to make an online comic for a site known as Inkblazers but sadly they were shutdown.

I've been highly confused on this site starting out even after reading things. I don't know how to add a picture to my profile. Would someone please help me with that?

I also have no idea when it comes to picking a great RPG maker program that would allow me to draw everything. I'd really like to create all of my original characters, fighting styles, maps, and environments. A great example of this is the program the creator of Awakening used... which I have no idea what program he used. Here is an example though of his amazing hard work: http://www.rocklou.com/

I read that he created and drew everything and I would love to do that with my creation. even if I had to learn programming (I wouldn't mind having a wise mentor for guidance.. (>.>); I would probably need one.)

LOL (^.^); as you all can see I need much help... but I am a hard worker and I have a highly creative mind. I been creating worlds for a long time now through creative writing and art. I would love to work my skills at programming and game design. I already have my game structure, story, and concepts in mind.

Thank you

and stay (/ouo)/ magical

Here's how to add a picture to your profile:

First, go to your locker. To get there, just hover over your username in the top left corner and a list will pop down. At the bottom of the list is a link to your locker.

On your locker, click the "upload" button and upload the picture you want to use as your avatar. After the picture is uploaded, click on the picture name to see the URL.

Save that URL. Now go to Edit Profile, also accessed when you hover over your username in the upper left corner.

Now, simply paste that image URL into the Avatar Image field. Hit the Update button and your picture avatar is done ^_^

Welcome to RMN! :D

You can also use offsite images, not necessarily using lockerspace to save an avatar, but i guess the other method is easier for newbies.

Welcome to the forum!

As for what program to use, it depends on what you want to make.
I suggest you take a stroll through the engines page (http://rpgmaker.net/portal/engines/) and see which one is to your fancy. Lots of them are free too!

If you want to see what games those engines can make, go to the games portal (http://rpgmaker.net/games/) and use the filter options to browse games by their engines.
Every RPG Maker lets you use your own graphics for pretty much everything you want. The latest version of RPG Maker, MV, is coming out next week, but you can already pre-order it and start working on graphics before the release.

Welcome to RMN! Share your creativity with us!

I studied programming in college, but, a lot of the stuff I've learned about programming has been through looking at the help file that came with RPG Maker VX Ace, and generally just messing with things (ie: Myriad Cypher and Champs of the Bocca). Though, to be fair, I really didn't start custom programming until recently. Like, within the last year or so.

Darigaaz, I'm slow.
(ouo)/ Hi everyone! Thank you so much for all of the help and support. (>.>); I'm not sure on how to respond to everyone personally so I hope everyone gets this message. Thank you all for your kindness and sweetness. I hope to make some new friends here (ouo)d

until next time

stay magical (/ouo)/

I should make that post into an article unity (if there isn't one already... I can't remember)

As in a PM? That's also a black-bar thing...

...like so. The link to click on is "Compose", which brings you to a place that looks something like...

...this. Note that both the "Subject" field and "Recipients" field start out blank, but, I figured to fill out at least "Subject" for example purposes. Use "Preview" to check your formatting, or whatever, and "Send" to send it out. There is no "Save as Draft" here (do we even want one?), so it kinda works like a post you can't edit, and can only be seen by the user(s) in the "Recipients" field.

Hope that makes sense!

The information, (without the useful images) is included in the 'New to RMN?' section, in the FAQ.

I can still submit it if people would like it as an article. Good idea, bad idea?

I dunno m80, I've been around for like a decade and I'm just as confused. What's this "play list" feature.
