[RMVX ACE] IS THE CURRENT BUNLDESTAR SELL ON RPG MAKER VX ACE LEGAL?

Hi. I'm waiting for RPG Maker MV and incidentally ran into the BundleStars(dot)com RPG Maker VX Ace bundle. Why is it so cheap and include all the add-ons?! If it's a legal sell, I wanted to know if the sprites will be compatible with RPG Maker MV and how will the new resolution affect them. Will the sprites be scaled up?

I'm not a graphics artist so for $8.49, the sprites alone are a good sell. I also noticed the full version of the Luna Engine is included in the bundle. Will I be able to use this engine in RPG Maker MV? I noticed RPG Maker MV pre-orders come pre-packaged with a lite version of the Luna Engine, but since the de facto scripting language has been changed to JavaScript, I'm guessing the version of the luna engine being sold in the bundle ONLY works on RPG Maker VX Ace.

Oh, and GameGuru + addons is also included in the bundle, which I have no interest in learning since I'm also learning how to use Unity + PlayMaker to make games =-)

If it's something from the humble bundle then it's perfectly legal. You would get a link which will give you a Steam Key. Assuming what you're talking about is what I think you're talking about.
It's not from HumbleBundle. I've purchased software from them before. It's from a website I've never heard of, BundleStars. Yes, I'm asking about the software being legal and hopefully the website not being a scam.

What do you think about the sprites being imported into RPG Maker MV?
PM me a link and I'll get some of the Degica staff to take a look. Thanks for keeping an eye out, though!

Checked with Nessy and it's legit. Feel free to buy, buy, buy~ ^.^)b

As for your question about MV, the default sprite sizes for the program are 48x48, but you can use the usual 32x32 sprites, however they will look a bit small on the map. There is a plugin that allows for tile resizing, meaning that you can make maps that use the 32x32 tiles and the sprites will fit on them, but I'm not sure how hard that will be to implement yet.

There has been some discussion about resizing sprites in the MV Preorder thread on RMW, and I'm sure it won't be long before people release edits of Ace sprites to fit the size.
Thanks. I didn't want to post a direct link to the bundle sell as my 1st post with the danger that this could be a scam =-s

And since there might be Ace resized re-releases, I can only think of insta-buying this bundle which includes VX Ace since I will be (hopefuly) legally entitled to use the VX Ace modified sprites in RPG MV as well =-D

Even though I don't plan on using VX Ace. I can give it to a friend and see if he wants to make maps and events and I can import them to my MV project with the conversion tool that I heard will also be released to make this easy.

I know working with the same version of RPG Maker is more ideal, but I don't know if my friend is interesting in shelling out $72 for MV right now which is definitely what I'm doing =-D

He uses ClickTeam Fusion and will soon launch his game to the Android and IOS store. We are planning on using Unity + PlayMaker to create a game together. I however, still like RPG Maker MV since none of us is an artist and I can use all the assets royalty free out of the box (I can make music though!), and I don't want to program an RPG fighting system from scratch =-p
So in the future, me and my friend will most likely see the Unity asset store like taking a trip to the candy shop, lol

Besides, this bundle's pricing seems to be intended for people that wouldn't have purchased RPG Maker otherwise!!
Just keep in mind that you can only use the assets of an RM engine in that engine itself OR another RM engine that you legally own. If you give away your copy of Ace, you no longer have the rights to use the graphics from the engine as you don't own the engine (whoever you gave it to would).

The graphics from any RPG Maker engine are only allowed to be used in other RPG Maker engines (and, I believe, the other engine made by Enterbrain - IG Maker). If you want to use them in Unity it's illegal to do so - the license only covers the legal makers (2k, 2k3, XP, VX, Ace, MV, IG).

Hope that makes things clear from a legality standpoint! ^.^
@Liberty
Thanks! I knew about RPG Maker assets being exclusive to RPG Maker engines.
I didn't know that I had to keep the license for VX Ace =-p

I purchased the bundle for the graphics anyways since somebody at the RMW forums already created a temporal solution to re-size the assets (fast community is fast!).

I found out that I still need to use the Steam key for RPG Maker VX Ace to open the rest of the asset bundles, otherwise, Steam will not let me install the DLC bundles independently.

It's still a great deal, I don't know any artist that will sell lots of graphix for $8.49 + RPG Maker VX Ace license + music + GameGuru + Game Guru assets(I'm probably going to raffle GameGuru on my Twitch channel since I'm busy learning Unity)
