HOW WOULD YOU SURVIVE THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE

CloseFor a zombie apocalypse to be a legit apocalypse, the zombies couldn't be the undead variety: in a matter of days, they wouldn't be able to function. They'd have to be the mind destroying disease variety.
I'd find a baseball bat. Maybe two for dual-wield. Then snowpants, balaclava, and anything to cover my extremities with thick fabric. None of this tanktop business.
Find my way up north, like Quebec or Nunavut. Cold weather for slower undead, and less population to worry about. Unless animals can turn too. In that case I blow my brains out.

For a zombie apocalypse to be a legit apocalypse, the zombies couldn't be the undead variety: in a matter of days, they wouldn't be able to function. They'd have to be the mind destroying disease variety.
Only way a zombie apocalypse will happen is if we literally do everything in our power to make one.

What makes you say the zombies can't be the undead variety? Are you an active practitioner of Necromancy with enough experience to know it wouldn't work out?
I'm against rushing out of town asap since everyone will do that and get stuck in a huge traffic jam.
Also, OP is very unspecific about the details, which makes it hard to tell what the starting conditions are. Chances are the zombie outbreak would only be in a small area that would be locked up by the military. If I still was in the safe zone, there'd be soldiers everywhere trying to rescue civilians (who is the crazy guy who came up with the idea that any zombie-infested city would be nuked asap?)

Fear of the dead is pointless. The dead cannot harm you. Only the living can. Fear of the dead is the fear of death. This is why the undead could never bring about an apocalypse. Their bodies deteriorate and there is no force that will hold them together. Only something divine could ever create such a being and divinity does not create death.
Also, the idea of a zombie infested city alludes to the cover up. In stories where this occurs, it is usually the case that the government is deliberately responsible for the outbreak, and upon losing control, realized the implications and resolved to kill all witnesses and destroy all evidence, so nuking a zombie infested city is a very specific scenario that requires the contagion to be contained in order to be believable or rational.
EDIT: I can think of a few stories that form the exception, where nuking an infested city is the default solution without any nefarious motivation, but these stories are very poorly written and are presented more as if they were written by immature teenagers in a basement who said, "Wouldn't it be cool if..."

I think it's easier to cover up a zombie outbreak than a nuclear strike on a densely populated city.
Oh, and in addition to not surviving the apocalypse, I'd also shoot God an annoyed look because he's writing a very cliche/overused story and he needs to get his act together.

I personally think the Zombie Apocalypse is the least-likely apocalypse to happen from the get go, so no need for planning for any survival techniques there!
The most likely apocalypse I envision is one where the Earth is ravaged to being nearly inhospitable and all remaining people would be confined to governments operated by a single corporation that brands everything (with no alternative companies), and dictates literally every aspect of how people live their lives.

Gah alot of you are missing the point, its not about how probable or possible it is. Its just a bit of escapist fun so roll with it and make plan.
The main thing is security, having a place out of reach and sight of the hordes.
Taking over 1 side of a street by smashing doorways through connected houses, break out the stairs and make an air locked method of entrance e.g a ramp leading to a 1st floor window. But retaining a gap so unless they learned to jump you would be fine.
Forget going on a mass zombie slaughtering spree, infection from blood and bodily fluids would be far too high risk.
Get a paintball gun a papermache some glow in the dark paintballs, mark as many zombies within your local area. Travel at night, zombies will have reduced visibility but will be marked for the occasion.
There would be a large amount of space in the gardens of the street you take over for crops to be planted, so learn to garden.
Survive on canned goods for the mean time.
Get some rain catchment/ purification on the go as you have a street full of houses with drainpipes to start collection.
Hope all zombies have a limited time span and wait 1 year and see if you need to relocate.
