Yeah the problem with just killing off the stuff you don't like is it shuts down any potential new threads. Like I was looking forward to seeing the adventures of the gay zomzom with one arm and no legs and the weird angel that was formerly(?) a yandere, but then it just turned into "here, have a sword I gotta pull a Poochy."
The rule of improv is you never say "no." You have to find a way to say "yes, and..." or "yes, but..." Got some Mary Sues? Find a way to bring them down to earth.
