RMN PLAYS TOWER OF DESTRUCTION

You try not to pay attention to the creature circling the skies but cast furtive glances back at it every now and then. Finally, you look back and notice it is gone. You breath a sigh of relief, only to swallow a scream straight after as a small white dragon kicks up the snow in front of you, where it lands.
It might be small by dragon standards, but to you it is very, very large. It eyes you disdainfully.
"Can you think of a reason I shouldn't have some nice ice human for dinner tonight?" It asks laconically.
What will you do?
>Offer it some Gold?
>Attack?
>Try to talk your way out of a fight?

You remember hearing that dragons enjoy being flattered, so you start to espouse the glory of the beast; how incredibly strong it is, how wonderful the colour of its scales are, how impressively large it is, the overall beauty and sheer elegance it exudes.
The dragon gives a dry, hissing laugh.
"That won't work on me, human. I'm far too clever." it says, then breathes over you with its freezing breath.
-3 Stamina
Seems there's naught to do but fight!
- Frost Breath: -2 Stamina, you go last on your next turn
- Tail Blow: -2 Stamina
- Snap: -1 Stamina
- Flatter: Flip coin. If heads, enemy Preens (does nothing next turn), if tails, nothing
- Hammer: -2 Stamina, goes last
- Crowbar: -1 Stamina, cointoss chance to pry off a scale, allowing for double damage next turn, goes last (when using this skill, call heads or tails)
- Dodge: cointoss chance to dodge (when using this skill, call heads or tails)
Other Actions:
+ Use Potion of Stamina (restores half of Max Stamina. Takes a turn to use. 1 use)

The enemy slaps it's tail into your chest and you go flying, landing in a snow drift. You shake yourself, then get up and try to talk the dragon down from its anger, complimenting just how strong and powerful the strike you just took was. It stares at you in apparent confusion, as you close the distance slowly, telling it how lovely its scales really are, how they shimmer in the light so wonderfully.
It hisses at you, but it seems more than a little confused by your response to being attacked. While it is distracted, you close the last little distance and strike out with the crowbar you'd hidden behind your back, successfully prying a scale off on it's leg!

I forgot to change the Luck for the last use. XD Now rectified!

The dragon snarls in fury and slams at you with its tail; or where you would have been standing if you hadn't jumped back just mere moments before. You grab the hammer hanging at your side and watch for an opening.
The drake's mouth opens wide, issuing a stream of snow and ice, freezing you to the bone. Teeth chattering you wait a long second for the stream to end, then bring the hammer down on the nose of the beast, hard.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Facepalm!
So on the turn when you'd do double damage you decided to dodge. XD
Read the skill text people! Also, you didn't call heads or tails. I called for you but please, read the skills! Next time I'll just insta-fail it.

Teeth still chattering, you try to tell the enemy that you really, really think its eyes are pretty, but it's either not listening or can't understand your garbled words - in anger it lashes out at you, catching you around the feet with its tail. You fall down, hard, almost winding yourself.
Trying to scrabble up, you see the beast ready another attack with its tail. You won't be able to dodge or get up in time, so take a risky gambit and strike out with your crowbar!
It hits, and lands a lucky blow, getting stuck momentarily between two scales! You cling tightly to the makeshift weapon as the force behind the strike throws you away from the dragon. A shiny scale flies off, too, leaving an exposed spot where it used to be.

All right, it's just about done. A Flatter or two more, and then we can ask for its phone number!
You wait for the drake to attack with it's tail again, but instead it snaps at you, trying to catch you with it's teeth. Luckily, you were ready for an attack, and you bring the hammer down as hard as you can, catching the beast on it's open maw. It does manage to scratch you, but you can see by the way it recoils that you've done a very damaging blow.
It hisses at you again, and you try to keep an eye on both its tail and head, ready for any attack that might come your way. It shifts its tail and you get ready from an attack from that quarter, only to realise just in time that it's attacking once more with a bite! It manages to sink its frozen teeth into your left shoulder and in desperation you slam it with the hammer, trying to get it to let go.
It does so, shaking its head angrily, and you assess the damage - you're definitely going to have a new scar or two after this encounter.

Nothing reveals Humanity so well as the games it plays. A game of betrayal, where the most suspicious person is brutally murdered? How savage.

Where is our dagger anyway?
We're very low on health, but I'm guessing we'll be forced to eat provisions soon after the battle, so that should be fine.

The dragon drags a long breath in, then blows out, freezing the air inside your lungs as you breath. You wince from the pain, trying your hardest not to faint from the lack of oxygen. As the creature finishes it's frosty breath attack, you slam down on its extended snout with your crowbar, managing to draw a keening cry from the beast.
It rears up, then snaps its mouth down at you, trying to grab at your head! You manage to wedge your hammer up between its teeth in time to protect your face, then shove it down the throat of the beast, blocking its breathing. It screams and thrashes, trying to dislodge the hammer, tail thrashing and claws scratching at its face.
You stand back in horror, watching wide-eyed as the drake's thrashing and desperate cries slowly die down and it eventually slumps to the ground, choking sounds coming from the poor beast. Finally, after what seems forever, it lays still, the life gone from it's magnificent body.
You feel drained from the battle, and take the time to wrap your wounds, eyeing the corpse of the creature now and then to make sure it won't come alive to try and kill you again. While you're at it you decide a cold lunch is called for, if only to replenish some of the energy you spent on the fight.

Finally, you decide to loot the body. You manage to take back your hammer, though it probably won't be useful for a weapon any more. You also gather the two scales you managed to pry from the beast and add them to the pack. Unfortunately, the creature - a being of ice - has frozen over in its death, so prying more of the precious scales will be all but impossible.
+2 Ice Drake Scales
Instead, you decide to continue on your way. Time is wasting, after all. Not far ahead you see the trail of the Sphere widening and blackening. Rounding a rock outcrop you can see why - the remains of a Barbarian camp, burned to cinders by the Sphere. Charred bodies of people and their animals lie scattered around the still-smoking ruins of their tents and belongings.
What will you do?
>Help any survivors you can find?
>Continue on your way?

As someone who knows what it coming, I HIGHLY recommend healing up a bit.
Also, your dagger would have been like a toothpick against that hide - unless you wanted the option of a 0 damage skill that just wastes a turn?

Phew! That was hard! That certainly calls for more Brandy...
I know that we shouldn't waste more time, but my moral instinct says: "LOOK FOR MORE SURVIVORS, YOU FUCKER!"

You sip at the brandy as you stumble around the burnt husks of the tents, looking for survivors. In a small clearing near a large tent you find an old man. He is half-dead, and gasping for breath. He grasps your arm and shoves a medallion into your hand, whispering to you desperately in a broken voice.
"Hurry... Hurry..."
Slowly, the light dims from his eyes and you close them gently as he releases one last sigh. No one else in the encampment was alive. You only hope that any survivors took their injured fellows to another camp, else the only other conclusion to make is that all the barbarians in this place were killed by the Sphere.
You examine the trinket the man passed to you; it is a bronze medallion with the carving of a flying horse on it. You stow it into your pack and leave the encampment behind.
+1 Flying Horse Medallion

Night falls fast and you find a small alcove between two rocks where you can camp the night in relative peace. The wind howls in the night, and you sleep fitfully, dreaming of Ice Wargs and wolves hunting you down while a palace of ice melts from the heat of a fallen star.
When you wake you eat a cold breakfast then break camp. You follow the trail for a while before you notice two sets of footprints in the snow. They are fresh and follow the trail as well.
