Lots and lots of promotion of some old games.

Mogify: Mod, where's the new demo of Zero Reality you promised like a month ago?
Finished my entry for the pixel art contest...
Worked on a maze style game for the last few hours, Mapping and shit like that. Designed in GameMaker.

Progress on Mage Duel is slowly creeping forward, inch by bloody inch. I no longer have the excitement of it being a new project to propel me, so I'm slowly chugging forward under my own steam.

The game requires WAY TOO MUCH PLAYTESTING to account for all the vast array of different classes, skills, and equipment. So I spent most of my day playtesting again.

Also:

*I set up two more of the main track fights (up to the fourth fight in Act II) but I didn't test them yet.
*I created the Magic Maze (like an actual, good-sized labyrinthine puzzle dungeon with random encounters and everything) that you have to navigate when you have the spell Magic Maze cast on you.

And then I saw it was like midnight and I was like well fuck this d00d and I stopped.
I only had time to do one thing today.

-Started to create the custom menu.
I'm trying to figure out a good way to do characters walking through covered areas (such as a rooftop, treetops, and signs), and I tried out doing it event-based. It took too many events. Then, I went for character-based. There wasn't a good way to get enough characters to display without too many events. Finally, I went coordinate-based. I figured I did enough with it for one night last night.

I'm still working on various distractions to put in the Inn and around Tombstone for the player to pursue. If they're going to spend a year in this town, they need to have some entertainment.

What I have so far:
-Crystal Bar (saloon)
*Listen to rumors
*Drink the night away
*Play Regents (card game I copy-pasted from Pimp)
*Purchase a Meal
*Speak with the Bartender
-Shops and Stores
*Gunsmith's
*Tailor's
*Barber's
*General Store
-Traveler Walking Inn (player's HQ)
*Bookshelves to pursue
*Food to eat
*Talk to other Posse Members (Larsene, etc.)

Any suggestions? (No brothels or dancehouses - illegal in Tombstone for plot reasons.)

AWESOME progress on an AWESOME boss fight in Mage Duel.

In the middle of the fight he casts this spell called "Magic Maze" which forces you to NAVIGATE A LABYRINTHINE DUNGEON before finishing the fight. And when you get back from the dungeon he casts GREATER MIRROR IMAGE and turns into eight copies of himself and there's no obvious way to tell which one is real.

Any immunities to, oh I don't know, TAUNT or BEFUDDLE?

...And you didn't suggest anything for Tombstone? :'(

EDIT: Too many fuggin' AWESOMEs. Sounds like WillCourt.

Today: (So Far)
Made two maps (including some tileset editing) purely for cutscenes in Mage Duel.

I also added in the guy who sells you hints about upcoming fights. Still working.

Uh...do you mean the boss or for players? Anyway, the boss is pretty resistant to that shit because all Illusionists are, and Players have been able to protect against those since Act I.

...And you didn't suggest anything for Tombstone? Cry

Honestly I think you've got it all pretty much covered. I just hope it plays as well as it sounds on paper.

It works very well, it just gets kind of... tedious. Which is why I need MORE!

Six hours later...
fought annoying variable glitch to no avail
made two full length cutscenes, three if you count the intro to the act I boss, with multipathing dialogue options.

An now totally burnt out. Total hours spent working today: over eight. I wish I knew when to stop.
