1873 is coming PHENOMENALLY.
I've made most of the "daily diversions". They all yield bonuses, be they stats, skills, money, items, or prevention of fatigue.
Missions are going good. i now have five of them for you. Nao Hudai's is particularly evil - hidden outlaws and doors that ask you questions.
I have most of my battle animations done, and my battle coding is, except for unique fights, complete! :D
Now to iron out the imperfections! Go, Playtesting, go, go, go!

I might be willing to beta your western for you if you promise to actually take my advice in regards to any shit I find that I decide absolutely needs to change. That's asking a lot so I don't assume you'll say yes.
No problem with that McGee - That's what I've been doing this whole time.
I'm currently playing through the sixtenth meself, and each day is about three minutes TOPS unless you have a mission or pre-planned event. The demo will go up until January 22nd, 1873.

I started learning python about 15 minutes ago, just reading syntax stuff right now.
Eagerly awaiting a ika vista release.

I probably spent a good 2~3 hours on Blue Sphere, I've designed a few more maps, and added in some new controls.
HOW DIFFICULT CAN IT BE!?
I've been trying to restrain myself from zipping/posting the current version of 1873 as is and awaiting feedback, when I know there's a bunch of issues I need to address.
Thankfully, they're mostly aesthetic issues like sprite issues and the need for more NPC's

hmm this trade is annoying, I have to do isometric and stuff in exchange for all the scripts ergh, ah well, at least it's better than nothing
Reworked some of the menu in Demon Destiny 2 but aside from that didn't do anything else. Had no free time really today.

I've now finished all of the character sketches...
...Which makes my classes 8x more boring.
Maybe you could make some characters for a sequel? Anything to keep there from being boring classes. Also, is it me, or did Game Making progress drop sharply this past Thursday? I guess Wrath of the Lich King is more important than RPG Making.
And pantsman9, there was a Star Ocean game called Blue Sphere released in Japan (for the Game Boy Advance, I believe), is your game related to that in any way?
Today's progress
Changed the encounters on F4-5 of each area so the two-enemy encounters don't show up. It should make the later floors better places to level up and it increases the chance of fighting PEs which are extremely helpful in the first area.
Increased the speed of the Tartarus PEs. It might unbalance them when they first appear though, but it should make them more threatening after another two levels or so.
Increased the accuracy of Magician's damage spells from 90%->100%. Partly because magic should have a success rate at least on par witih regular attacks and partly because I just missed with a 90% success rate six times in a row. Rm2k3!
Getting close to where I have to actually make real progress instead of endlessly polishing various already-made bits. Ya~ay!

I only made minor progress this weekend, I removed the picture events that weren't working in the first town and did some testing to make sure I didn't remove the wrong events.

Has this topic helped you guys at all with progress on your games?
The amount of work I did before and after I got into this topic is like comparing roadkill to a stick of dynamite. I'd say so.
Surely, even though for the past weeks my progress slowed a bit, but it is all due to work and RMN pixelart contest :)
author=Feldschlacht IV link=topic=2027.msg44951#msg44951 date=1226952249A tad bit, yeah. Plus it's interesting to see what other people are doing.

I figure that I should finish the game I'm working on before I start planning sequels, because then if I make characters for one, I'll want to make the sequel. And then it's a giant epic mess. x.x
That was the mistake with my last project.
Began charting out stat curves...
Only 224 left.
Edit: Wait, no, mathfail. Make that 94. Big difference.
