(Not necessarily just an RMMV thing - but felt I should pick just one)
As per the subject - do you guys make your own sound effects, or do you find them scattered around the internet?
Specifically, I'm looking for magic-y sounds (like fire/irc spells, curing spells, yada yada) and I'm trying not to use resources from commercial games.
Would appreciate guidance on where to look! (Alternatively, if anyone has Creative Commons sound packs in handy, that would be superb <3)

Sooz linked me to this incredible list on tumblr, and I got most of my sound effects for my latest project from there ^_^

http://www.freesound.org/
is where I tend to get most of my sounds. A lot of that should be CC-licensed as far as I know. And the selection is fairly nice. I know I've found a bunch of sounds for various video projects in the past.

I second http://www.freesound.org/ that's where I find most of my stuff
Besides freesound, i used to use http://www.findsounds.com/ to look for specific sound effects. I stopped using it because most of the sound effects i found had abysmal quality and/or were impossible to track down to know the license of, so use it only as a last resource sort of thing if you can't find a specific sound effect.
I like to use http://www.bfxr.net/ to make most of my own sounds.
I used Acid to edit, mix, and re-render them.
