I'm in my mid-30's, married, I have two fur-babies (dogs), and being online/gaming has been a hobby of mine for many years now! I've had a story and written script for an RPG since the late 90's and now I'm here to see if I can find people to help make it work! Here's hoping there will be interest in helping create an RPG of comparable styling to Final Fantasy 6.
Now if anyone can tell me which forum to post to with more specifics? It's a for-fun project for now, but I'd be more than happy to share any profit later.

As for posting about your game you would make a game by clicking on submit game under Submissions, and then fill out all the needed info, and just wait for it to get accepted.

Hello and welcome!
I'd suggest you start out by working yourself into the engine, going through tutorials and making one or a couple of short games to get familiar and gather experience with it all. Alone.
Without anything to show off, be it skill, dedication to see a game through or related - and the fact you are new to it all - chances are you won't find people to join up.
Everyone here has their own ideas and projects to work on, there are a few events where you can make some fun projects alone or together which are more popular, but there usually isn't any reason or incentive to buddy up with random people.
Red also wrote a great three-part article about working together on games.

If you still really do want to hire people, be as specific as possible in what you are trying to do, what scope the game has (battle system, custom art or RTP, playtime, special features), what you bring to the table, what the others should bring to the table, and what compensation they will get (if any) and post it on the job boards.

I'm trying to evolve from being the "ideas guy" to one that can implement his visions. I might pick your brain later about front/row back row coding at some point lol :-)
