[RMVX ACE] MESSAGES NOT SHOWING AFTER RUNNING COMMON EVENT

Posts

Pages: 1
So, the game works fine until I decided to create a common event to generate random enemies.

Before the common event it's fine.

I go into battle with the fog enemy. That runs a common event.

That's when things start to mess up. All the message windows don't pop up.

Anyone know what's wrong, and how to fix it?

The TM is for Totally Magical.

1. Can you show us the entire common event? I can't see what could be interacting with message windows in this, and the scroll bar shows me there's more to the event than this.

2. Are any other common events linked to this one?

3. Can you show us the local event also (i. e. the event that calls the common event)?

4. Wow! Taking away XP for losing a fight. That's harsh.
The common event is just:

@>Control Variables: (0022: RNG Slime) = Random No. (1...7)
@>Conitaional Branch: Variable (0022: RNG Slime) == 1
@>Battle Processing: Blue Slime
: If Win
@>Erase Event
: If Escape
@>
: If Lose
@>Condition Branch: Variable (0100: Save Points) = 1
@>Transfer Player:(024: Player Hub)
@>Text
@>Change EXP

Its all basicly just the samw thing just changing the RNG Slime Variable each time.

To answer your second question, no it doesn't.

All the Fog does is call that common event an nothing else.

and yeah but it's super easy to get XP in the game. There's a few ways to get it.
Is the variable referenced in any way in relation to the messages?
No, it isn't.

I stand corrected, it actually was. I can't believe I messed that.
Honestly, the messages shouldn't be messed with by calling a common event. It's just weird that they are. What scripts are you using? It might be a conflict of some sort that got triggered by something you changed in the event.

Maybe upload a demo to your locker so we can take an in-depth look.

Oh, neat! Don't worry, I had the same issue one time (well, it wasn't windows that were affected but some item management) and it was driving me crazy. Lo and behold, one of my scripts had used a variable number by default that I already had in use. Easy fix was to change the variable number in the script and voila~ It worked. Now it's something I make sure to check every time I add a new script. ^.^)b
Haha I go and make sure to change things in new scripts but I didn't touch some of the stuff because I didn't think I'd use it or need it.
