The Division has been the best-selling gameon steam for a couple of weeks.
But it is not my cuppa. Too many numbers above the heads of enemies. Too much Borderlands. I want my headshots to mean something. Not just double the damage.

The watermelon crushing sfx with a headshot kill is really satisfying, high quality sound design.
You can also shoot stray dogs. My theory is they are infected?

See these things would make me jump at it. In fact the early previews made it seem promising. But HP... really? What were they thinking?

Ok, so my friend has been telling me about this one. Haven't played it, so this is second hand info.
He claims it's a lot of fun, however it doesn't sound fun. The opening point you're syphoned through a choke point that early release was bugged and people were forming cues to activate... That's right. Step right up! Step right up! Form an orderly line, folks, it's the apocalypse after all!
Anyway, in game sounds a bit whatever. Beautiful yes, but potentially boring pve, with even worse pvp. In the 'Dark Zone' pvp area, you're gathering resources, and have to survive against other players to extract them. But, if you PK, you become Rogue, and the other players get a free kill from you. The loss of dying a rogue is substatial. Like set backs on your progression. Whereas, if you succeed going rogue, the gain is minimal.
So in pvp, people are basically playing nice. Few people are pking, or they are forming groups to go rogue in. It's sounding less interesting.
They'll have to release updates to give incentive for pvp.
I dunno. Sounds coolish, but not enough to bother, at this point. Has potential to become the next Destiny, and I don't particularly like that prospect. Bunch of kids insulting each other's mothers.
I have this game for the XBone (I also own a PS4, which I have generally used way more). I played it once. And I will pay for an XBone Live subscription to play it some more when I'm done replaying some older games and done being randomly obsessed with a game I just got (Way Of The Samurai 4 of all fucking things).

I'm hearing mixed things about the game, but I'm still up in the air whether I get it or not; the fact of the matter is, regardless of the reviews the game is getting, all of my friends except me have the game and they're having a blast. Maybe I should just break down and pick it up?

idk the other day i killed a bunch of players. and managed to go full on "manhunt" for me.
i was retreating into a subway to get rid of the rouge status. i had one more to go until i was being man hunted. this dude walks up to me and doesnt attack. i am unsure what to do, i had 40 seconds left. i didnt want to attack him and make the timer go way back up.
but another guys shows up right away and they both attack me, i immediately retreat further into the subway and drop a turret behind me. i wasnt sure if i could take both of them just like that...
suddenly i am being man hunted, and i run past a bunch of npc enemies. and just kind of sit tight for 5 min...
i got a fairly large reward in DK money and DK xp.

lately i just pk and try to gain more dk xp while killing the npc enemies. i want to get to lvl 30+???
it's fun trying to attack a group of 3 lvl 11-12 players.
i can't just go at it i must pick them off...
i've never been in a group of players aiming to pk.

The Division is an open-world third person shooter MMO that takes place in New York, during the aftermath of a chemical attack. The graphical features are so awesome that one can easily get into playing this game again and again. I am also a crazy fan of playing this game ever since one of my brothers got the CD Keys of The Division.
