GRANDIA 2 -- WHAT'S WITH THE HATE?

I'm surprised about the positive reception here! Yup, the port suffered from some weird graphical issues, like the character shadows messing up in battle.

I've heard a lot of hate going on about this game concerning its story, characters and voice acting as well. Maybe there's not as much hate for this as I thought.

Anyway, the Steam version has a 50% price cut, so if you're planning on getting it, then I recommend you to do so ASAP. The offer ends at the 25th this month!

@Soli: Yeah, the music is rad AF IMO. Iwadare is my favorite composer because of this game's OST especially.

I was thinking about getting it (surprisingly, I'm not much into JRPG's), but I saw some people say that it doesn't have any reply value. If I may ask, as people who've played that game before, what would say about that?

Yeah, it's very linear and you're not going to experience anything new playing through it multiple times but that doesn't mean its not worth playing through once.

It's sort of a 'you had to be there' game, there was a time when its graphics and voice acting were bleeding edge, but I played it years afterwards and still liked it.

I've literally never heard of anyone hating Grandia II. Its graphics and perhaps voice acting are dated now but for the time they were very good. Also the soundtrack is rad.

Oh god why haven't I familiarized myself with the OST before. Of course it's by Iwadare like the first one. This is excellent stuff, thanks.
I remember being amazed at how some attacks seamlessly triggered cgi cutscenes mod battle on the PS2, and loving the refinements on the already awesome combat system from the original.
