Hi, this was a post made before the system crashed I am looking for someone who could do a wolf sprite for RPG maker VX and a battler for the JRPG we are currently developing. Please message back if your interested and I will give for details.
I don't consider myself an artist, but, I do feel like relaying a bit more information about the artistic styling of your game would help you. For instance, the run-time package comes with an "Animal" set that has a wolf sprite in it. One can be presume that an RTP-styled wolf-sprite is not what you're looking for, but, that still leaves a very wide array of possibilities as to what you are looking for.
sorry, if you go to omnicidals website, you can get some more information on the style: http://www.omnicidalstdio.com/
Honestly you're being so vague about what you want it's pointless.
I think I have given enough information about the basic job, I can see why me being vague causes a concern however the exact specifics will be discussed if someone is interested. Since I will be paying for this service I want someone who is reliable and will not dupe me and someone who will approach me and have a discussion will indicate they are honestly interested giving me faith in there abilities, I hope you guys understand :).
So if anyone is still interested to clarify I am looking for someone to create a battler and sprite for a wolf.
I have the artwork for the wolf and would like a sprite similar to this design:

if you are interested please send me a message, again thanks.

You need to create that interest, first. Giving very little information as to what you are looking for other than "a wolf sprite" and not even stating who you are or what company you are representing equally reads as suspicious to a potential employee. I get you want to look for someone who will be committed, but bear in mind that the artists are looking for the exact same thing, and your initial post reads unprofessional and dubious at best, to be honest.
I'm pretty sure I have placed the website address of the organisation
also the style here
since I will be relying on the artist for there inputs I don't want to tie them down to a style that wont work

How about actually adding images to the first post so that any interested parties can see -straight away- what you want. Take a few images from the site in question and post them in the topic to show the style, then show the wolf image. We have image tags for a reason. Use them for your benefit.
And describe it in detail what kind of things you want, too. Is it just a normal RM-type sprite with the typical 3/4 frame set-up or are there going to be poses included? How many frames for the battler? What type of style? What kind of animations? How big do you want the battler size to be? How much work do you think it will be? How big is the budget you're looking at (even if it's just estimates)? How are you going to pay (some people can only use certain options)?
This is all information you should be saying in your very first post. Clarity is key to finding the right person for the job.
How about showing off a little of your project so that they know what kind of style you've got going and that their work is actually going to be used - you'd be surprised just how knowing they'll see a finished product eventually makes people more inclined to work for someone.
Give them all the information they need so they can know if it's something they are capable of doing or not - that way you get the right fit for you and they get the right fit for their skills. This is pretty much common sense for anyone who is trying to work in the commercial field.
You are appealing to people here, who will work here on this site. Forcing them to go elsewhere to find out whether they can do what you want of them is stupid. Besides it's like leeching - the only reason you're here is to scout and people are less inclined to trust others they don't know in the community, especially when it comes to money.
The least you can do, if you're going to run and dump, is try to appeal to the people here by giving them the information they need in order to not waste their time chasing you up only to learn their skills won't do. Geez, it's like hiring 101.

Well, the link you provided shows a wolf drawn using a fairly simple style. If you're willing to pay for this to be done, I don't see why you wouldn't be able simply buy the license rights for the sprite you've linked to. You'll notice that the very next selection is a battler that can easily be recolored to match the sprite. What I'm saying is, if you want to use that style of wolf, then use that wolf. All you have to do is delete one of the columns to make it work with VX. I promise, the person who created it will be more than happy to let you use it if the price is right, and you could probably pay him to create an appropriate battler if one doesn't already exist. Now, if you're looking for a Holder's style battle sheet, that will be a little different, but you know what, wolves attack with their muzzles so making a battler sheet based on that sprite isn't going to be much of an issue.
And that trust issue Liberty is talking about...yeah, I'm having that issue right now. Now, I think Mirak is an artist, but I'm not sure. I've never seen Ratty do any art stuffs. I know that Libby and Marrend aren't artists. I've only recently started to publish my work on site, and I don't cell shade because I don't like squeaky clean images. Now, you've made a little bit of a stink about being vague, so now it's time to point out the undeniable fact: not one of the established artists on this site has even touched this thread. I do not see Sooz, MakioKuta, or JosephSeraph or anyone else for that matter.
I am the only artist that is even deigning to respond to this (unless Mirak and Ratty have skills I haven't seen), and I'm not even established. Your target audience for this thread isn't taking you seriously and obviously do not consider your request worth their time. The obvious solution is to adjust your attitude.

Huh , never really thought any of my posts had attitude. Clearly this has been misrepresented horribly. Unfortunatly I had already made a post before this site had that cataclysmic crash about this. Not that its anyone's fault and all the people that were involved in getting it back up so fast should be super proud of themselves and I'm really thankful for it- I thought I had represented like the previous post which I got messages from people who were interested and was going to send them the character sheet and original artwork.
I had also made a post a while back requesting if anyone new who the artist was which I am pretty sure Mirak responded to saying he had as much of an idea as I had ( but , still gave some friendly advice :)) and I am still in the process of trying to find the original creator.
I have been completely honest with my intentions - I guess with the internet rather then with a conversation it is very hard to really see where someone is coming from - if people are not interested then that's fine , no harm done - which seems to be all this post is becoming.
Also Phantom, a point you have brought up is completely true artists do not seem to be responding to this post, just people wanting more information , which is great and makes me super happy that people are interested and although liberty alot of your comments seem quite spiteful and demeaning(which you may or not mean) I do appreciate the input.
With something like developing a game I think we can all agree its done best with people carrying about the work were working on whether you are really good at or just learning the ropes, by giving a vague initial request gives everyone operating there to have a little creativity as suggestions always makes things better. We are not a massive Studio like Bethesda or Square Enix so working with someone who has that kind of understanding and just wants to do something they love is absolutely imperative - I'm guessing most of us here have jobs we actually have to work too. and yes there is some truth to your 101 comment Liberty but also thinking outside the box is very necessary and approaching things in a different way is always good, it seems the impression I was trying to make of being professional but still quite friendly has either not come across or back-fired completely.
If asking for a person to do a job on the job request is not really what this topic is for and is considered leaching then I am not completely comfortable with providing alot of information and glad I have not given everything up front - this is not an attack on you everyone in this wonderful community even if it digs me into a bigger hole(honestly not sarcastic I really mean it which is shown by how much you care about loosing your fellow site users and if there being used or not) I just want to point that out.
I am not quite sure the procedure on closing a thread/post so if the administrator sees this post or can instruct me on how to do so that would be great :).
