Lit drums a finger along his chin, in thought, then...
Runs into the TOP-RIGHT cell, and drags the table into the hallway. Then tips it on side so the flat is towards the door.
@Cellblock A: "Whether friend or foe, they must pass a few simple questions before we allow them inwards. If foe... Then we may do well with a barricade for the moment. At very least, it would cause a bottleneck."
After a beat, Lit looks around quickly.
"Would any of you wager a gamble? If we piled straw by the doorway, with this table as a buffer, and there were flames dancing on my torch; I dare say, we could block them with a fire! Alas, the smoke may very well kill us. Perhaps a tactic for another day."

@Seiromem: No, it only uses base stats, though when you level up it will take any changes there into consideration.

The door seems to have been made of a stout oak and bears signs of having been abused in the past. Small scrapes and gashes cover it, and despite the dirt and grime, you can make out little pocked marks and burns from where the hot oil in the sconce popped and sprayed it, leaving its mark on the wood.
You imagine that it came from a large tree, probably quite tall. Maybe it was on a hill, maybe it grew in a forest. Either way, the wood has a good grain to it and the craftsmanship shown in the creation - the careful attention given to the hinge setting, the obvious care with which the handle and lock were put into place - show that someone of great skill created the door.
The bottom of the door is half an inch off the floor, not enough to look under, but enough to show that there is some strong light source in the room beyond.
This door is a sentinel of doors, a strong bulwark against what might be out there, beyond. It is a door that would have been at home in any castle or keep - a strong, dependable door that you could rely on to keep you safe. It is a door most grand and powerful, one that would not easily break or bend. Even now, after years of misuse, time has barely left more than a few paltry scratches and dents.
It is a mighty door indeed!

The bowman passes an odd looking bottle to his partner, who quaffs it down quickly.
Pike Guard +12 HP
Micah chants Wind Spin in return, and throws the fury of the tempest at the enemy, picking up the dust and debris once more to slam into both of them.
Archer Guard -8 HP
Pike Guard -6 HP
Whilst this happens, Jane chants Healing Dew on Roux, tending to his wounds.
Chadwick leaps into the fray whilst Roux recovers, throwing another punch at the guardsman with the pike, landing a blow to the man's stomach.
Roux +9 HP
Pike Guard -3 HP
Pike Guard goes last
While the guard is reeling Roux, still glowing from the light of the healing spell, throws a heavy punch at the pike-wielding guard, knocking him back into his ally.
Pike Guard -7 HP
The pike guard gasps for breath, then pops some kind of pill into his mouth! A desperate gleam appears in his eyes...

(Damn it! They're consuming all the loot!)
As I lend a satisfying blow on the guard, I notice that some of my strength is returning. Consequently my resolve doubles.
I turn my head for a second to check if everyone's alright.
"Don't give up! We can beat them!"
As I look back at the guard, I sense that he's acting differently. He might be preparing a new kind of attack.
I stand in front of my teammates and Defend, trying to foresee what the Pike Guard is about to do.

@avee: Correct me if i'm wrong but since you go last in turn order you'd be defending after the guard attacked, i don't know if this is true though i'm thinking rpg mechanics
Chadwick heard Roux's battle cheer and gave a quick glance towards the mages positioned at the back, who were preparing their next spells. Chadwick started to wonder just how much endurance a single guard could have and for a fraction of a second he considered a career change.
Chadwick went to punch the pike guard in the face

(Ah yes, I presumed that Defend takes effect on the first turn, regardless of who acts first.
If not, then I suppose I should attack the Pike Guard, but something tells me that he's gonna hit me hard. My Shield Bash won't help as it doesn't reduce the damage I take).

@avee: Yeah i have a healing skill so all i can do right now is punch weakly since fearful is in healing duty. Your punches are super strong compared to mine so it would be good if we simply punch them to death while tanking the damage. If things get too hairy both mages and i can spam healing skills since almost our entire party got a dedicated healing spell.
Hey hold on when was Micah hurt (he's got 22/24 hp)? don't tell me using magic cost hp? D:

Goddamnit. He's supposed to have 22 HP MAX. I forgot to change his max amount. See on the last status you'll notice that he apparently has 24/22 - I got mixed around. >.<;
(Alright then, I'll change my action while I still can. I'll rely on you guys if I end up drowning in my own blood :P)
I rush at the Pike Guard with my fist raised, hoping that this next blow will be decisive.
(I think I'm supposed to have 22 in Max HP as well?)

Where the hell did I get 24 from??? o.O;

The bowman plays support again, passing some food to their companion, who quickly swallows it and stands up, ready for battle. His eyes are shining with an odd light.
The pikeman lunges forward, faster and more accurate than before, slamming his spear into Roux's gut! Roux falls down, blood pouring from the wound as the pikeman licks his lips and turns his eyes on the rest of you.
Roux -20 HP
Micah throws out another Wind Spin in a panic, the winds generated throwing the archer to the side, where his head connects with one of the cell bars. He slumps to the ground, no longer able to fight.
The pikeman, however, stands firm in the face of the wind, dark eyes glinting malevolently above a menacing grin.
Archer Guard -8 HP
Pike Guard -1 HP
Jane throws out a ball of flame, slamming into the enemy. Whilst it looks like it might have done great damage, the pikeman shrugs it off as though it meant nothing to him.
Pikeman -0 HP
Chad surges forward to attack, but finds his punches are not affecting the enemy at all. At a loss he falls back. When he does so Roux, with great effort, pulls himself up to attack and manages to lay a blow to the jaw of the foe. The grin stretches even further across the enemy's face as he turns his face back to look Roux dead in the eyes, pushing against the punch. Roux falls back in shock.
Pike Guard -0 HP
Pike Guard -2 HP
The pike guard suddenly gasps and staggers a little. His face is hidden in shadow for a moment, and when he looks up again he appears haggard - exhausted beyond belief.

(Pike Guard: "And that's not even my final form!" XP)
I writhe in pain as my blood pours on the floor. I look at the guard; he seems weakened and not so full of confidence anymore. He might not be able to pull that trick a second time.
Feeling that I might lose consciousness soon, I painstakingly stand up and try to attack the guard one last time.

Chadwick froze in place as he saw Roux get badly wounded by the berserk guard. He thought of attacking to distract the guard, but before he could do so, Roux stood up somehow and lunged forward. @Roux: Are you crazy? You'll get killed for real! - Thinking that the guard might be faking his stupor, Chadwick chose to use Slake on Roux, hoping that the healing effect would let him endure a possible counterattack. The concentration required for using his healing skill was affecting Chadwick and his vision started contorting straight lines into curves, Chadwick turned to call for help from the mages; @Jane & Micah (whoever): Please! Help Roux with your magic!
(I should write a book - Building Inter-Party Friendships 101:
Step 1 - almost kill the tank.
Step 2 - ???
Step 3 - profit!
Seriously, though, when I saw the damage output on that pikeman I was like "Yeah, Roux'll be fine... oh wait... shiiiiiiiiii-")

Wait, if someone dies in battle they'll revive on their own if we end up winning right?
Maybe we should have all ganged up on the guard instead? :P
