THROUGH DARK AND TWIST [FORUM RPG']

The meat is heavily salted and dried, obviously some kind of jerky. There's no reason not to take it. The table it is on is a bit rickety, made of what was once light wood. It could probably be broken down with enough force applied.

Faint snoring from nearby wakens you from your slumber. In front of your face is a dark blackness and feeling it reveals a wall, cold and made of stone. You sit up and look around, seeing a faint light from beyond what look to be bars. You do a quick spot check of your belongings - a small loaf of bread and cheese are in your food pouch, your leather pouch is tucked away into your inner pocket and both bracer and padded tunic are accounted for, the latter keeping you warm from the chill of the air.
In the corner opposite you you can just make out the shape of a table and below it what looks to be a bucket.

You become aware of movement somewhere nearby, and wake under a thread-bare blanket in what appears to be a cell. Dim light spills in through the bars of the cell, illuminating it enough for you to make out a small table and bucket.
You check your pockets and find the diary page tucked safely away in one. Your knee pads are still securely fastened.

Finding the meat preserved, it seems better to keep it for later as hunger has not struck. Sticking the meat in his pocket, Lit decides to potentially arm himself.
With a heft, Lit flips the table towards the bucket.
Is that a doable action?

It sure is. I'll let you know if something isn't doable.

It takes a lot of effort but you manage to throw the table at the bucket in the corner. It slams against the stone wall behind, and crunches the bucket beneath it. Looking carefully you can see that one of the legs of the table could be pried free of the now-broken and dented furniture.

Roux:
Unable to remember how I ended up in what looks like a prison cell, my first thought is to better understand where I am. After having confirmed that none of my equipment is missing I can already presume two things:
1: Whoever put me in this prison has little interest in taking my equipment and goods for their own or to sell them for money.
2: Judging from the furniture, this prison is made to keep its prisoners alive for a while. Therefore, whoever put me in there might intend to use me in some way, or have me do something.
With those thoughts in mind, I decide to stay alert and listen to my surroundings while
I inspect the bed, sheets and pillow, to try and see if I could have another use for those (to use the sheet as a cape for instance)

"Ah, perfect, that'll do."
Lit then goes to the bed and picks up the blanket. Wrapping part of the blanket around the loose table leg, Lit makes sure not to get any nasty splinters while dismantling the broken furniture.

I also want to check if I got that food in my inventory. I didn't bold the action, so, wasn't sure if that was clear.
I eagerly pick up the lockpick. Finding this lockpick in a tiny room like this sure was a miracle. As I hold the lockpick, my minds seems to become at ease a little as I have finally found a way to get out of this cramped room.
I dash for the door to put my newly acquired lockpick to the test, before I start to hesitate for a bit. I remember hearing different noises, including a scream for help, meaning there are other people around. Therefore, it wouldn't be unthinkable for there to be guards around, so I shouldn't just barge out of my cell.
I attempt to lockpick the door, making sure that I keep the door shut even if I manage to unlock it, so to not raise any suspicion.

The pillow is made of moth-eaten cloth surrounding a small pallet of straw. It might be good for keeping a fire going, but it's so compacted from years of being used that it's useless for anything else. The bedding itself is threadbare, with holes and rips. It wouldn't be much use for anything due to the state - it's too dirty, dusty and grimy to make bandages out of and it would barely cover you as a cape - its condition would render it useless as one in any case.
The bed itself is little more than a pallet of straw. It is full of dust and dirt and stinks of human sweat and worse. You dig through the straw and find a few things - a couple of copper coins and some mouldy crumbs - but ultimately find nothing of real use.
The coins are added to your money pouch. +4 Sika

Lit has made a torch. It will require an initial fire source (magical or mundane) to light, but will last for 5 turns of exploration and can be used as a make-shift melee weapon in battle (+1 POW, if lit possible fire-based damage).

Torch added to inventory.

You carefully ease the pick into the lock and quietly jiggle it around, trying to find the catch. It takes a little while, and your hands are getting sweaty. You stop for a moment and listen - you can hear breathing and you think you can make out a cell across from yours, though there's no movement from within. You can also see another cell to the right of it which is better illuminated by the weak light - the door is open but it looks much like you'd imagine your own cell would if you could see it better in the dark.
Taking a breath you try again to pick the lock, this time succeeding. With a sharp SNKT and a dull clunk the tumbler turns and your door is now open. You pocket the lockpick, which thankfully didn't break despite the large size of the lock and your fumbling.
Your door is now open and you may exit your cell, or continue to search.

In this case any food on your tables or in the room with you is counted as the food you started with. Anything extra will have to be interacted with. Assume that if you find food, it will be added to your inventory unless you make a point to not add it.
-------
Skills will be handled with die rolls on my end. If it's something that your class is expected to know how to do (for example, a Rogue using a lockpick) then you will receive two tries per turn. If it is a skill that your class or character would not know how to do (for example, a Warrior trying to disarm a magical trap) they will get only one try per turn.
There will also be some skills that cannot be done by certain classes and will always be met with failure, though I will make sure to let you know after the initial try that this is the case (for example, a Farmer trying to decipher an ancient text). Rule of thumb will be that if a skill falls under a certain stat (Con, Pow, Agi, Int) if that is your classes worst stat then you are very likely not to be able to do that skill.
That said, I'm going to be pretty lenient with the kinds of interactions you can do. The tutorial area will hopefully help you realise just what you can do, but you should be free to interact with most things. If you do interact with something but it doesn't update the Point of Interest count, then you either have interacted with that thing before OR it was not one of the Points of Interest.
An example of this is Lit making a torch with the table. He'd already interacted with the table before and it was then counted as a Point of Interest. He has yet to interact with anything else in the cell, so the only PoI he has triggered is the table.
Feel free to try stuff out. I'll be pretty accommodating for the most part, but if there is something that cannot be done, at least you'll get some funny text out of it. X3
Jane makes her way to the dimly lit bucket, she was admiring how the light interacted with the buckets surface. She inspects it further.

You check the bucket, careful to inspect it before touching it. There's a fetid smell coming from it and you can see some sort of disgusting waste within. There doesn't seem to be anything around it, and careful checking shows nothing of interest.

The SNKT sound calms me down a lot and my feelings of claustrophobia start to diminish. It finally dawns on me how absurd this situation is, so I think it would be best to find my bearings before leaving this cell. I turn around and the bottle catches my eye.
I walk over to the table and inspect the table and the item(s) on top of it.

The bottle is dusty, but sealed tightly. It seems to be wine of a kind and you add it to your pack. The table itself is old and battered, yet still quite sturdy. You can tell that it has seen a lot of use, but the once-pale wood is now almost black with grime and ingrained dust. It's a pity, it was probably a nice looking piece in its hey-day.
The area under the table is bereft of anything interesting bar dust, straw and dirt. Looks like it has been here a long, long time.

I evaluate my inventory. I figure it's going to take quite some time and effort to escape this place, which I presume is a prison of some sorts. Other than my lockpick, I really don't have sufficient supplies for an easy escape, so I return to the bed and see if I can create something from the blanket and the pillow, like a makeshift rope.

Unfortunately, the blanket keeps tearing when you try to use it and the pillow is unusable for anything bar burning. The straw bedding is also unfit for any other use.

"Nobody cares enough to reply to me screaming..."
*Chloe cries a little then picks up the lock of hair*
*Sigh* "He loved me... I need to leave here... I better rest for now though."
*Chloe goes over to the bed, and tries to sleep.*

You try to sleep but the smell of the bedding is enough to make you queasy. You find yourself thinking about how many bodies might have laid in this same straw, how many of them might have been ill - physically, mentally and emotionally - and begin to wonder if any of them had lice or worms of any kind.
You really cannot sleep after that thought.

"Urgh... I CAN'T EVEN SLEEP! I need to get out of here!"
*Chloe tries again and again, she hits the bars, she runs into them, kicks them, tries as hard as she can to break the bars.*
