The reason no one's interested in the clue is because you can't possibly have any useful convincing information. The only relevant word there is HERRING.

A Few thins Regarding infection:
1. Remember the Mafia only has two members, And only three Infection Vials, It is Not Unlimited, And With The Mafia's Small Size At he start they could be destroyed easily if vigilante and SK get lucky
2.While Specials(And even the SK) CAN Be Infected, And Get Corrupted(Weaker) Powers, Infection Is less Direct than Killing, As in They Don't say "Oh Look Tangledlion Is Viggie, Let's Just Infect Him." While they can try, They Actually Have To Give Me three Candidates, And the Infected Will Be chosen Randomly
3.Remember Doc CAN Stop Infection too, So say I Revealed Myself As Viggie, If the doctor Protected me, Then it would choose one of the other two.
4.You DEFINITELY Will know when someone is infected as vigilante and SK Use Different Rounds, And Mafia can only Kill by disease, so If that Is missing You Will Know If someone is infected
5.The Mafia Has to Wait till Night To Infect, So Right now there are just 3 traitors to deal with.

Also, @Tangled, you realize the odds are incredibly small that we manage to kill all the mafia before they infect everyone? This means that 2 out of 3 random guesses on the first night have to hit true. Like less than 1%.
I'm also trying to decide if the vigilante should wait until the mafia is out of infections to start killing people... they'd be more likely to hit mafia that way.

I'm not too sure about it, but I think to solve the puzzle we need to find X and follow the pattern given to uncover a word. Here's an example that's probably not correct.

So far what intrigues me the most was how defencive Ratty was, I only said bandwagon since I wanted to provoke a reaction, like poking a bear, or in this case a Rat(ty).
We have nothing to go on yet, soooooooooo, yeah.
Also before the end of the dayphase we all HAVE to vote or it counts against us, we can cancel so why not start voting sooner rather than later?
Which reminds me, Tangled, how long is the day phase and how much is left?
