Nothing reveals Humanity so well as the games it plays. A game of betrayal, where the most suspicious person is brutally murdered? How savage.

Maaan mafia had daychat? I think half the fun of playing as with hidden partners is trying to play off of them, cluing them in to the plan while keeping everyone else off. Like I've seen games where there's a mafia job whose only power is providing daychat haha.
Day chat is pretty common for mafia games run here on rmn. Though this mechanic you're mentioning is certainly interesting.
piano's recent game had a double agent making day chat dangerous, and it'd certainly be interesting to have more people experiment with changes to the mafia chat system.
KloepianotmThat'd be so cool! Resurrection! Though that'd be OP, because you'd know their role AND it's an extra vote per day
Also, I'd have probably counterbalanced by giving two town resurrection abilities.
Not necessarily: it's a common mechanic in mafia for roles to change in death. I think, given the way this game was ultimately being played, that even if they didn't become mafia, enough people would have been suspicious of them that they could have become a very interesting element. Think about it. Wouldn't you be suspicious in a zombie game where dead town came back to life?
Might have even made a new special class for them: Shamblers.

Another way to do revival is the tree stump role.
When the tree stump dies, they flip town, but are still allowed to post in the thread like live players. However, they are considered dead in every other sense. They do not count towards the number of town, and cannot vote. Also, they lose any night powers they might have had, but in turn cannot be targeted by night actions.
Basically, they're ghosts. Unable to influence the game in any way other than talking. Which, in a game that is all about talking, is actually really powerful.

For those of you who like discussing design, I invite you to discuss: Ultima Fantasy Mafia
I wonder what my problem was, aside from killing the doctor.
I also wonder whether CAVE suspected me as vigilante early on.

I think you just have a lynchable face, ratty XD
Maybe argue some more when under suspicion? You seemed a bit quiet but I could be wrong.

I think your fate was sealed the moment you pointed a gun at my face... Jk, jk, I really don't know :p
You just have a really lynchable butt, or is that a very pinchable butt, it's one of the two xD

@gourd: Really? I felt like I was at people's throats based on dumb logic in this game.
@Kloe: My butt is definitely not pinchable. >:(

Oh in general you were active but I felt like you just refuted allegations initially about whether you were suspicious or not and then left us to decide if we believed you or not after that.
You were really twitchy, Ratty. You fired off a lot of accusations at people on minimal evidence. To some people that looked scummy somehow. I thought you were playing fast and loose because you were expendable... sort of like me with my idiot setup plans
@Gourd The reason I still say you had a guilty voting record is because you voted in lockstep with whoever happened to be the most vocal player at the time. I think I outlined this somewhere but you never took a risk by voting on your own, you always changed vote immediately after someone else changed theirs. It was especially notable on day 2/3 with piano. It was basically the opposite playstyle as Ratty. Ratty cast fearless lynches, yours were cowardly as hell. (voting for yourself day 1 doesn't help, it just means that you have 0% of being one of the people who get exposed as voting against town on day 1 and therefore suspected)

What I don't get...Ratty, why didn't you role claim?
At the time I was getting somewhat confident that psy would lynched in my place... That and it was really late and I probably wasn't thinking straight. I definitely should have used my daykill then but somehow I thought I could wake up at 5AM to use it just before Tangled ended the day. >_>
@PSY Sorry, but my Frogge + PSY votes beg to differ Any correlation between me and vocal players are because you can discuss with vocal players silly. What's the sense in lynching on your own all the time? I hate to break it to you, but I was a much more balanced voter than you seem to think.
Not to say most of my lynches were right but >.<
PS there is no benefit to me voting for myself day 1 bc town almost always lynches wrong anyway therefore dismissing it is silly.
