[RM2K3] CAN'T SEE THE TILES

Posts

Pages: 1
Hello everyone~
Having troubles as always, anyway, my problem is that my tiles can't be seen in the map, it shows the blue tile (Which is the dark one) I think that makes my tiles dark (I think!) In the lower layer editing, it shows the map like this:

And the upper layer (I can't see a thing, just the book, but no floors.)

Help me D:

This kinda looks like a case of copy-pasting a tileset in. If this was the case, it took the tile set as-is. Which probably included a "blank" tile that is entirely made out of that one green-blue-ish color.

I think it might still be possible to use the import option. As I recall, there should be an option to select a "background color" that serves as a "transparent color". Selecting the right color, should, in theory, clear up this mess. I don't recall if there is a preview option, or not.

Well, this is getting tricky, maybe I should make my own tileset so I can avoid problems, I used, indeed, tileset that I didn't make, good answer.
I did what you told me to do to clear this disaster, It actually work, thanks alot, but I don't know I feel bad taking a tileset that I didnt make, I don't know what to do, this will be my first game. I'm still a noob at gamemaking.

Thanks alot btw.

Especially for a first game, I think using resources made by others is fine. Just be sure to give credit to the creator is given somewhere in the game. Like, for example, a readme file that nobody reads.
It's fine, don't worry. Even if you make your own tileset, there are parts of them that need to be left blank since the IDs of those tiles are used by the maker for specific things. In this case, the tile in question is used as a default 'no upper tiles here' tile, which is necessary.

Yeah, I was thinking about that, I really hope I can make my own tiles in my future games, seems tough but it'll be worth it.

Thanks a lot for your answers!~
