Let's have a big thread about Etrian Odyssey. It's a really awesome DS game that came out like two weeks ago that is a super-oldschool RPG that will kick your ass and make you like it.

I support this thread.

Still exploring B6 super slowly. I don't have much time to play! Plus, they're kicking my butt.

I haven't really had much time to play. I just got my guys to lv4 or 5 on B1. I'm a wuss. =(
I'm pushing through B16 right now, but I have no idea how to map what I'm seeing. The floors are getting really complex.
I intend to get the game once I acquire the DS I have been promised.

If only because I respect any game that inspires this kind of nonsense.

Drawing your own maps in an old school dungeon crawl is an idea I can get behind.

Drawing maps is pretty awesome, but I wish they didn't limit you to how many icons and notes you can add per map. Anal retentive players like me can't put in all they stuff they want.
Oh man, Etrian Odyssey is awesome. I'm only down to B2, but I've been working on building up some extra characters lately.
Just got to B17, and picked up a Hexer (finally). I had planned to Retire a bunch of guys and level my Hexer up along with the new recruits, but I decided instead to just put my L1 Hexer in my group and level him on B17. He dies in one hit of course, but it generally works pretty well. He's made it up to L20 so far.

I think I like the class (it focuses mainly on status ailments, and doesn't have any abilities to deal direct damage) but I think it will take a LOT of points before it is consistently useful. By the time he's L40 or so he'll be invaluable.

This brings my roster to one of every class except two alchemists, two medics and four survivalists. Wild.

I need to get this. I'll probably have to import, since there are apparently no plans to release it in Europe.
