CloseWe have had a lot of varied games lately. Vanilla mafia has sort of fallen by the wayside. I'd like some feedback on what type of mafia you guys like.
This poll is based on frequency of the games.
This does not include flavor, only mechanics.
For example, if you prefer custom setups, but still like vanilla once in awhile you would select "Both, skewed towards custom."

I like the custom mechanics as they add a nice bit of variety in the game, though I'm fine with both.

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

And I agree! Lots of fun and interesting roles, even if they are minor, is more fun than one or two well balanced ones! Shenanigans are the best!
Hell, we already pull shenanigans and insane theories out of nowhere! Might as well have a reason :)

People said they were burned out of mafia games so I took that as a cue to wait until it'd been a few weeks since the last one before starting mine. But of course that didn't stop someone else from running one the very next day, and also three more of them over the next five weeks. So I'm still worried about the same thing.

Good plan. I am officially calling dibs on next mafia. It will involve WAY too many powers/items, and some other minor bullshit. I'll re-open my thread shortly and see who from the original signups was still interested, and figure out a way to let other people join without breaking the "you have semi-control over your role but not really" thing.
Edit: See, this is the problem. It's not even 12 hours since the last game stopped and Kloe already wants to run another one. Now I have to wait another two weeks before I can call dibs, even though I actually called dibs a month and a half ago.

Maybe we should ask to have some sort of a mafia topic stickied? Somewhere where we can plan games and discuss hosting difficulties, etc.

There was a thread, maybe two (or three?) if you go back far enough, that kept track of what mafia games people wanted to run. I think the most recent one was a thread started by... Zezuizo? I forget the exact user-name.
