BLUMIU'S ART DUMP

Posts

author=Caladium
I'll look forward to seeing what you do with Nar, but I was talking this guy that you've drawn again, sitting on the right in "Lost Children Illustration A" so its Dusk right?

And the blond ponytail guy is interesting too... ^^

Oh, yes, that's Dusk. I thought you meant the other drawing. I wasn't sure what you meant by the armor.
The blonde-ish fellow is Shiva. I have a portrait of him now, but feel like I'll either revisit it or redraw it altogether.
Since I'm in the middle of commissions I'll have a bit of a pause in my posts for a time. However, I did finish a personal piece up while switching back and forth. I think I've arrived at the support cast of Innocenza at this point, and drew Costach Cardinal, Miriam's elderfather.

Costach Cardinal

Full Name- Costach Cardinal

Alias(s) - None

Date of Birth- Heste/30/332 CR

Eyes- Crimson

Hair- Blonde

Height- 6’3’’ (190 cm)

Weight- 190 lbs (86.5 kg)

Sex- Male

Nationality- Kolonian

Occupation- Bureaucrat

Interests- History, politics, philosophy, music, wine-making

Hobby (s) – Reading, fencing, drinking

A man after his father, Costach became a loyalist as he did, a bureaucrat in favour of restoring the olde ways of Lithavania and after the reemergence of House Arcturus, the realization of restoring the monarchy became a possibility when they were thought lost. An idealistic young man that desired close ties with Arcturus, Costach became one of few that became a close and personal friend to Engel Arcturus, who would be Viennrose.

Being in close company with the family, he came to know the Arcturus sisters well and at Engel’s prodding, Costach courted Ilinca, the eldest daughter. A hard woman to please, he came to learn Ilinca enjoyed trying his patience in all matters; combating his views even if they were the same, questioning if his allegiance was a golden opportunity for a starting politician and his worthiness at her hand. A patient man, he always gave in to her jests and oddly enough became a bonding point.

To his shock, she accepted his proposal and let down her guard, the pair becoming like-minded partners and companions. With the birth of Varen, Vetrise and Cachusa, Costach became even more driven to contend against the controlling faction of Red Council and Vladmir Blair, the de facto leader of Kolonia.

Dark times came to Kolonia with the arrival of the Gravuzie plague, the first disease known to affect Penumbra and only them. Where superstition surfaced among a rationale people, Costach voice his wife’s independent studies alongside that of their scholars newly delved into medicine and research with this menace, but little did countermeasures halt the slow, shadowy plague. Costach participated in the vote to quarantine and study the infected in their advanced, rabid stages with little options left to debate.

Costach was also instrumental in assisting Engel in forming Lumas Interlo along with Draken Dianisia and other loyalists, an independent organization directly responding to the dark times with the arrival of the Gravuzie plague by offering relief and even sheltering into the outside world for those looking to the outside world, despite its dangers.

The weight of Varen’s death weighed upon Costach being the one to elect his son to the position of liason between Kolonia and Castle Ebrem, a waypoint for Penumbran refugees. With this came Vetrise leaving home under the wing of Vladmir Blair, where for a time caused Costach to directly aggressively stand against and vocally accuse Vladmir of controlling the Red Council from the shadows.

With the next tragedy that came from the Gravuzie plague upon the family, Costach acted immediately in the search for his daughter and granddaughter, while laying a few traps in the likelihood Iinca’s theory was correct in these amalgamations somehow being controlled or the plague itself being artificial.
Tis been a small time since I've been back posting. Should be back to regular schedule now that oh, so wonderful work is over with and get back to personal pieces.

Mute

This is a character from ALTER, a story that likely will not ever be game related. Went for more an anime style. To be honest, wasn't sure how it would go since it has been some time since minimizing my style. Turned out nicely though!
So Costach is a good guy. Seems that way.
By that I mean he seems more good than the previously somewhat gray characters although maybe not necessarily.
I mean... I would shake his hand without thinking about hidden knives. Heh.

Honestly, that anime like style works for that pic. Even if it were just eyes. No idea how her (his?) name ties to the story but if the girl is really mute than I usually like big eyes as something of a... counter to that fact. You cannot talk so you have to be observant and creative in communicating things.

Yep, everyone of House Arcturus are good guys, even though Adriana goal is to reinstall her family. Technically it was taken from them and there are still some that want to see them return to the throne. It's also a matter of perspective as I'm sure there are good things about not having a monarchy, but that's all part of the plot~

Yeah, I think ALTER works better in anime style more than realism, though I'm sure I'll put out a few illustrations differently. Mute is a boy lol! No worries as he's supposed to be androgynous and he talks, but only certain times. I haven't completely put the story together, but each of the alters names have to do with their connection to Genin and parts of himself. I think I try and make eyes communicate something most times, or at least try to.
Some new and progressed WIPs

Lineart is finished with this.

This seems familiar to me. I'm not sure if I saw it here (and you are re-posting), or on your Deviant Art page. Or, possibly, both.

Lol ^^ You probably saw on my DA since I uploaded there first. Usually I have to upload elsewhere and think my artwork here I usually don't upload wips in succession there, but they've been collecting and I forget I've not uploading something after finishing.

Even though it's a lot more effort, pieces like that do even appeal to me much more because they convey more for the story. I'll try and do one or more for each, for whatever theme I can think of that comes to mind.

Thanks! I wasn't entirely sure about using his old design as based upon, but it turned out people actually like it ^^

Haha, I was going to say :D
This character is actually from a story I've had in mind for many months now since an interesting dream that stayed with me even after having it. I would actually love to make this a game if I had the time. I could go into a tangent with it, but I've just started my first post for this story's artwork :)

Not sure why I think of The Little Prince. Hm.

The Little Prince....why does that sound familiar?

Not a new drawing, but one I've held out on until I finished her character bio (haven't worked on the story in ages, so not easy to switch gears with something outdated). It's the last story in Eternity, but originally was the first one I ever did.

Ecanora Pandora

Ecanora was raised within the teachings of the Holy Mother Church and within its gates her entire life, her mother, Helena, a scenia priestess, brought to Delsa before she was born. She knows little of her father or her mother’s refusal to speak upon it, but has known her family line to be connected to the past monarchy of Nuefrost.

Though kind-hearted and naturally giving, she is not naïve or amiss to the guiles of the world beyond the sanctuary. The poor and destitute in which she volunteers her time to come from many backgrounds, and through them learn of the harshness the world can foster.

As her pilgrimage to become a priestess approached, Helena gave her daughter a task alongside this duty, one to be kept only to herself until its completion. She was given a brooch to be delivered to a man residing in the metropolis of X-is. Together alongside her consorts, Alen and Eihmoto, her journey to the minsters across the world will spark the renewal and uniting of an old legend and fires of the next conflict of Nis.

*Kind of short for technically the heroine of the story, I'll likely update it once I start working on it again to flesh it out and add more to the character.
Lost Children Pt.1- Dusk vs. Transient Spettro WIP
Went in and started putting together the background for Ematus Sercia HQ. If the perspective is off, it should be. I'm not good at it and was playing by eye ^^;

Chances are you have maybe seen the illustrations somewhere before!

Yep. Even though the reality will probably hit her regardless because own experiences are unique, this is ways better than not talking at all and thinking everything is fine.

And long blue hair is appreciated, haha!

That battle WIP is going to get finished, right? :D

And you're exactly right. Even though she's aware to a degree, experiencing something first-hand is quite different and becomes empathy rather than sympathy. I know naivety is a rampant stereotype with kind individuals, personality always override this and why no one person is the same as another.

Indeed ^^ Nuefrolians (or their descendants at this point all have that genetic trait, but only her and Lauro so far are characters that have it.

Yes, haha! I'm racking up WIPs aplenty, but now I'm uploading so I have them in place on sites I frequent, then finalize each one.
One WIP out of the way. This character is from Laodicea, the story following Lost Children Pt.1. Cyro is the antagonist for the initial part, but more of opposing the the protagonists due to different standing. Therefore, he might come off as a hero in his own right. I'll have to draw his sister at some point...or just about every other character lol!

Laodicea- Cyro Skyseeker

A massive Kutunkutoha warrior of Surlvhal that earned a name for himself during the war against the Alliiance, even among his people as a slayer of dragons; proof being his armor fashioned from their bones. To end the subjugation of his land, he gathers six allies to his cause, naming them after a legendary band of heroes that ended the Tianite Rebellion.
