WHAT DO YOU DO FOR A LIVING?

I'd really rather be home making stuff instead.
Up until a month and a half ago, I was a math/science/computer tutor at a community college. Now I'm a software engineer at an agile company doing contracting for healthcare systems.
I'm currently a student trying to learn Computer engineering. I worked as secretary in a small shop for 1 year, managing all the documents and what not. I'm aiming to be a game developer in the future, with the engineering degree being my plan B and turning president of my country being plan C. Also, there's the chance that I might start being a missionary at any point of my life.
All in all, very simple amibitions.

I'm a cultural anthropologist for a small consulting company. I used to do a lot of work with Native American tribes, researching traditional cultural properties. But now I'm doing more work on commercial fishing and how small communities are affected by changes in the environment. It's a great career - but very niche.
I'm trying to figure out what to with my life, really...looking for work in a highway town where the only thing we've got going for us is the copious amount of fast food joints, and places that require you to have experience....to GET experience.
But hey. I prefer physical labor because I exercise my mental faculties almost all the time when I'm home, whether it's reading or music...so.
Being unemployed and lost is a terrible combination, folks. Not nearly as charming as Hollywood makes it seem. lol

Was freelance musicians in Dallas then Nashville for the last 5 years. Recently I accepted a job with the US Navy Band in DC. On the side I still freelance gigs and write music. And of course make games!
I am a Residential Assistant, which I pretty much help take care of the developmentally delayed. It's a pretty lousy pay, but eh, better than other jobs I can get at this point.
I'm assuming most here would rather make games for a living. Same here. The best pro of my job is sometimes I can make games during the down times.

I'm a social media analyst. It is my job to slowly turn all the parts of the internet you like into soulless profit-generating spheres for corporations.
At least you don't operate those forum farms where they have people posting shill comments in forums all day.
...or do you...
