Hey um I'm trying to make a Final Fantasy fan game and I was just wondering how can I make a blue mage? I know some of you guys did it on your ff games so if someone could help me out. Is it possible to make a blue mage or a blue mage skill without writing out a huge script?
Gah that sucks! Well I guess what I can do is have a guy thatcan learn boss' abilities and use them as overdrives kinda like kamarhi only when he oarticipates in battlke. However, I'll understand if you guys don't wanna do this but if someone who has done blue mages can pm me the scrpt ill make sure to give you credit.
What maker do you use? I *might* be able to do it with XP if it's only boss battles I need to worry about, and not everyday encounters. No gaurntees tho, and It wouldn't be neat. That's my coding style ^^ Sloppy but effective.

Edit: Actually, if it's XP I can do it even with everyday monsters. ^_^ I just figured out how.
no unfortunitly i have vx. I almost got XP but I have vista.
lol So do I ^^ I just had to put it into XP Compatability Mode and it goes fine.
I'll look into it for VX for you tho - it can't be all that different for what I have in mind...
thanks i really appreciate it. I'm making a Final Fantasy game and what's always been one of my most favorite features in ff games is the ability to learn enemy skills. just pm me what you come up with and ill be sure to put your name in the credits ;D
Ok, I submitted a tutorial for this, it's awaiting acceptance ^_^
I feel proud to have contributed something really worthwile ;D
Crap. Is there any way to ensure (or to have a very high chance of) making an attack inflict a state on a character through an attack? That's teh only thing that's wrong with my non-scripted Blue Mage class.

Edit: oops - sorry for teh double post, didn't even think about it >_<
Edit*2: never mind - I was just being dense >_< I got it to work now ^_^
