Oh freakin' A. I'm going to play the hell out of this. Like the guy in the article, I haven't finished it because I'm just not that avid a PC gamer, but this will be an excellent excuse to do so.

I was lucky enough to play the game with a PS2 controller on my PC.

However, the classic controller is so amazing I can't wait to play this with it.

The press release about it said this:
Cave Story: This title is an action-adventure game with new, exclusive content and features created only for the WiiWare version.

But like you said, the game is worth paying for regardless. Pixel earned our money more honestly than a lot of commercial developers have.

For those of you who have no idea what Cave Story is (if there are any of you):

It is an action-platformer in the vein of the Castlevania games, but with a much lighter atmosphere and a story that actually makes sense. It's also arguably the best freeware game ever made, and even got tenth place on the Action Button.net Manifesto.

So for those of you who haven't tried it yet, try it now! Or, alternatively, wait until the version for WiiWare comes out. I just hope they care to release it in the states!

I wonder if they would use the Aeon Genesis translation? Pixel apparently supported the AG translation effort, so it's as close to official as it needs to be, and I imagine they'd be willing to negotiate....and it would greatly improve our chances of getting it.

On the other hand, I wouldn't object to a professional translation job if they wanted to spend the time and money on it.

Just started playing this yesterday. Freakin awesome. Too bad I don't have internet to my wii, or rather.. fast internet in general.
