[RMXP] VOICES IN BATTLE

Hey guys,
So I'm making a little game using the default battle system in RPGMaker XP and wanted to know if you guys knew of an efficient way to include character voices in battle using common events.
So for example, having the main character yell "HIYA" while their attack animation plays and also overtop the attack sound effect. Or having a specific grunt when a character takes damage.

I'm hoping there's a way to do it that doesn't involve using the script editor unless it's absolutely the only way to do it.
Thanks a lot in advance!

This is completely unrelated, but I love your art! It's like a fun mix of Tales of Alethrion, Gurren Lagann, and the Gorillaz' music videos. I sincerely hope you get somebody to make you a better-looking HUD than the default, because it's fucking ugly and takes up sooo much space.
Thanks, that's a huge compliment!
Yeah, I hate that HUD and I tried adding a bunch of textures and patterns to it to spice it up but it still looked pretty bad. The best I could come up with was just making it brown with the gradient. I'm really limited in both my knowledge and with RPG Maker XP in particular.
I'm thinking maybe I'll be able to find somebody to help me with the overall menu design once the meat and potatoes of the actual game are done.
