oh yeah

can i just put forth like, about 20% of bravely default

the sequel was so much better about not having creepy pervy parts most of the time.

edit: literally every vag-crazy man in any rpg is the worst-written character in the history of gaming

edit2: also every scene in Diablo 3 is so bad, to the point where I really wanted to side with the evil mage guy because I hated everybody except for him. It's not even B-movie enjoyable bad, it's just AWFUL. special mention to the THREE spider bosses, TWO of which have boobs

edit3: i just want to reiterate the diablo 3 has literally the most aggressively terrible story in a game that should not even bother having one to begin with

it's so BAD. like, 1980s saturday morning cartoon but not the good cartoons the shitty clones bad!
To be fair, spider bosses with boobs are usually based on the Japanese myths of the same, so it's understandable.

I'm having trouble thinking of cringe moments but that's likely because I blocked them all out instead of there being none in the games I play. There's a few cringy peeps in some games but they usually get called out for their creepatude and/or knocked around by the female characters for it.

OH! I know! Motherfucking Steve from Danganronpa 2. Uh, I mean TeruTeru who is Terubul. Guy creeps on the girls all the time. Actually, yeah, let's also throw in the scenes where Mikan falls over and splays her everything wide open to be seen. Was that really fucking necessary SpikeChunsoft? Really? >.<;

Probably not safe for work

Yeah, fuck TeruTeru. So aggravating. And, as much as I like Mikan, those moments of hers were really weird and out of place.

I mean, not Corpse Party levels of pervy, but yeah.
The only redeeming factor about TeruTeru is that he also creeps on the guys. It's... not much of a redeeming factor, I'll admit. Hey, at least he loves his mom though. :/

Man i wish i could remember the best ones i've experienced but like liberty i kind of stopped remembering after they made me cringe.

The ones i can remember are not too cringey but still cringey; The voice acting in Star Ocean - The Second Story is the one i remember the most, with the voice acting of Tenchu surfacing right after i was done thinking about it.

Pears to Peaches is the greatest thing and I will fight anybody who says otherwise
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

@craze: I really liked the Diablo 3 story. I thought the villains were all hella cool, and the setting was really neat, and the diary entries added a lot, and I liked Leah/Adria/Tyrael, and I liked the Blacksmith/Gemsmith/Enchanter, and I thought the storybook scenes at the beginning of each chapter were all really well done. In fact, I can't think of anything about the game's story that I disliked other than Deckard Cain's voice.

I might just be part of the problem...? I have the taste of a ten year old.
I think nothing will be more cringy for me than every moment that Fiore appears onscreen on Star Ocean 5
WHO THE FUCK THOUGHT THAT WAS A NICE DESIGN
And I'm not even talking about her being sexualized
Celine from Star Ocean 2 is sexualized (AND sexy) too and it isn't cringy (in fact she's one of the coolest characters in that game)

But then again my straight male friends are telling me Fiore's sexier than Celine... she literally looks like a lifeless doll who can't emote anything than the feeling of deep discomfort of beign on that ridiculous garment
She's fucking creepy and if I saw her anywhere with less than ideal lightning i'd run the hell away

Another big cringe point was Castlevania: Dawn of Souls. Not a bad title at all but man, that art...
AoS had such stunning character art then they stick in the dullest art possible with the stupidiest palettes and i just wanna kill myself whenever there's a cutscene

Now a moment that's pretty much heralded as THE cringiest moment in vidyagams but that isn't cringy at all to me is Tidus' laugh in FFX
The FF10 laughing scene is fine IMO, Tidus and Yuna are sharing an awkward moment with the rest of the cast cringing. People in real life are already awkward as hell and it isn't a bad example of video game characters being the same.

The TM is for Totally Magical.

The Tidus laugh was never cringy to me. In context, the laugh was supposed to be awkward and strange. It's only cringy when heard out of context.

Nothing reveals Humanity so well as the games it plays. A game of betrayal, where the most suspicious person is brutally murdered? How savage.

Also, literally straight afterwards they laugh for real because of how awkward their forced laughter was. It's a cute bonding scene between Tidus and Yuna. There's nothing wrong with it.
i'm glad to hear that from you; the internet seems to think otherwise, at least whenever they try to create some sort of surreal reason to hate on a game as superb as ffx :P

Well, FFX has its flaws, certainly. It's criminally linear, the postgame bosses have way too much HP to the point where they're just endurance battles, and the game makes you dodge 200 lightning strikes in a row for Lulu's Celestial weapon.

But the story is great and is also told really well. And that includes the akward laugh scene. The exception there being Seymour, who didn't really... do anything at all? He's just there to be the bad guy, but after Macalania he just sort of randomly pops up now and again, and you kill him without sending him so he gets to come back yet again. And then that is his shtick for like half the game.
I'm not hating on FFX, I like FFX. I simply don't like the scene, and even in its context, it doesn't get across catharsis nor the distressed nature of the actors, it simply sounds robotic.
I really, really will never understand why "linearity" is deemed as a flaw. It's like complaining a strawberry pie tastes like strawberries. If you don't like strawberries, don't eat them! Eat apple pies instead!
Point is, lineartiy is not inherently inferior or superior, it is merely a characteristic, one that some people dislike, and one that fits specific sorts of goals and experiences. I personally thoroughly enjoy fully linear experiences, as long as that linear experience is well crafted -- which is deeefinitely the case with Final Fantasy X, as well as Parasite Eve, another extremely linear and endearing game.
Yeah the lightning dodge stuff was bullshit but otherwise I found the post game stuff to be really fun -- I didn't get to the super extra bosses like penance etc. but otherwise the arena creations all felt fun and compelling -- one thing that made me like FFX's postgame is that it was a whole new game and for someone who loves minmaxing and the sphere grid as much as I did always having unfinished objectives in terms of post game content made the game consistently press forward to me

It's really just my particular taste! But what I mean is that it has few literal universal flaws and more of a strong taste, lots of things that can be (rightfully) disliked but aren't inherently bad.

And Seymour felt like Team Rocket with a dash of Kefka for good measure. That being said I don't know why but I wound up liking him -- the fights with him were always challenging, he had a few awesome moments (like when he's momentarily in your team being all badass and you turtle around just to use his overdrive and obliterate the boss) and his backstory explored in baaj was really nice
The wedding scene too was a m a z i n g
so welp idk

i think i wrote a bit too much
i
really like ffx

EDIT: GREDGE109 I LITERALLY DIDNT SEE YOUR COMMENT WHEN I MENTIONED THE FFX SCENE ROFLMALOL

EDIT: GREDGE109 I LITERALLY DIDNT SEE YOUR COMMENT WHEN I MENTIONED THE FFX SCENE ROFLMALOL

Lol, that's pretty funny timing!
I'm going to comment on an older ff as well. Won't mention star ocean or tales of skits, as that's basically been covered.

FF6: That moment when the world is practically destroyed, and strago starts worshiping Kefka when he thought his daughter was killed by Kefkas act. Was I the only one bothered by this?

Shadow Hearts Covenent: Any scene between Joachim and his coach.

Suikoden Tactics: Any battle where I'm trying to level the main character and end up fighting a bunch of fishmen. Anyone who has played this knows what I mean. understand the reasoning, but still hated it.

Will post more as I think of them. I have a whole dictionary of rpg's in my head that it's hard to single them out.

I can tell you another one. I'm not necessarily going to put them into the 'omg so cringe' category, but the Coffin Scenes in Mugen Souls Z are definately something I don't want anyone I know walkin in on when they are going on.

Let's see if I can track one down here...

OKay, so this is the second coffin scene you get (if it doesn't move you to the right time, it starts at 45:11, and the actual coffin scene is at 49:20). It is also applied to probably the youngest person in the series. For context, they have to drain the God powers from a buttload of people, using the coffin. Mercifully, most are not voiced. I think the voice actors probably revolted. Which makes me wonder... why did they voice THIS one!?
